We spent our last evening in St Lucia at Rainforest Hideaway for dinner. It was hard to leave! It was the most romantic and incredible dining experience we have ever had. The food just doesn't compare to anything we have had previously in the Carribbean. During our meal we said multiple times it was the best meal we have ever... More
Most romantic restaurant we have ever been to. Set in the mangroves across from the pier at Marigot Bay your dinner adventure starts on the 5 minute ferry ride over to it. Upon arrival you are greet at their pier and can then decide whether to have a drink in the lounge or go straight to your table over looking... More
Dear DCV1234 Thanks for your lovely review of dining at Rainforest. The jazz trio is the Rupert Lay Trio who play every Friday at Rainforest - but we have live jazz on five nights each week - all year round: guitar-led Jazz with Zack Popo on Mondays, steel pan led jazz with Allison Marquis on Wednesdays, Saxophone-led jazz on Thursdays... We were warmly greeted by the staff and felt like we were special. The wait staff was very attentive to our needs. The waitress answered all our questions about the menu and suggested several items we might try. I took her up on the Lion Fish. It was some of the best fish I have had in a long time!... More
Dear ksrich Thanks for your "excellent" review of your dining experience at Rainforest and particularly for your comments about the staff and service. We aim for friendly and attentive service - but not overbearing. The lion fish is our most popular dish and the more we catch and eat the more juvenile reef fish reach maturity......great eating with a real... More
We absolutely loved the Rainforest Hideaway. We visited with friends after deciding on the morning of our visit to try to book and taking the only availability they had at 8pm. Everything was fantastic; from our early morning telephone call Judith emailed to confirm our booking and gave us details of some boats to get us there from Rodney Bay.... More
Dear Maxygirl Thanks for your "fabulous" review of your evening experience at Rainforest. Coming by boat is not the cheapest option - but it can be the highlight of a vacation - a sunset cruise to Marigot Bay - delivered right onto the Rainforest dock and then a moonlight or starlit cruise back after dinner. Magic..! John Verity Owner -... More
Every visit to this place is like a food adventure. The chef knows how to tingle our taste buds. The restaurant manager is very pleasant, and always ensures that we are taken care of. The only issue I had ( and this is the first time our of the many times) is that the was not very mindful. She never... More
Dear Nadbas Thanks for your review of dining at Rainforest - and for your regular repeat business. I am sorry that the service was not up to the standard you previously experienced and I will contact you privately through TripAdvisor to discuss this. All feedback is valuable to us in improving our performance. I am sure it was a "one-off"... More
Fabulous staff, ambiance and food. Perfect for a special night with a special someone. I do have a few tips though: * Credit Cards: You need to know though that they DO NOT TAKE DISCOVER (and I think American Express) * Make reservations - 3 people told us it was not necessary but when we go there it was necessary.... Dear CarrieBecker Thanks for your very positive review of dining at Rainforest and for your helpful tips for others. We take VISA and MasterCard, but, like many other small businesses in the Caribbean, we cannot afford to pay the larger fees to Amex. Our local banks do not represent Discover. Reservations are always a good idea as we are often... More
We chose to eat here on the last night of our stay in Marigot. This place lived up to it's reputation. The drinks, food, views, and jazz music make for a very romantic culinary experience. If we had of tried this sooner we would have been back a few times!
Dear Meagan24inTO Thanks for your fantastic review of your dining experience at Rainforest. Even though we missed your own repeat business, I'm sure your review will encourage others - which we very much appreciate. John Verity - Owner, Rainforest Hideaway More
We have visited this restaurant several times over the years. It is located in what is reputed to be the prettiest bay in the Caribbean. It is reached only by a rather quaint but cute free water taxi which zig zags between ocean going yachts. The food was good, as was the service and dinner was accompanied by a jazz... More
Dear MKJGrumpy Nothing "grumpy" about your review...! My grandkids christened me "Mr Grumpy" years ago - and no doubt it will be engraved on my tombstone - but like you I can give praise where praise is due and pay up when the kids need it..! Have they given you a mug for Christmas inscribed "Granny and Grumpy Live Here"..?... More
