Called in for lunch today & received a warm welcome from Hank and his staff. Pub itself is cosy and welcoming, & the staff were cheerful and bubbly. Food is all freshly cooked so there may be a delay before you eat - but it's worth the wait!! Portions are generous and beautifully presented, and very well cooked. We had... More

Very good dinner with friendly efficient service. Very generous portions, especially the starters - we had whitebait and duck cakes both beautifully cooked. Very generous portion of gammon and my rabbit and black pudding pie (with shortcrust pastry - hurrah!) blended the two flavours really well. Good thing that we had a hungry dog to take left over chips to... More

A lovely small and cosy pub. The menu is small but it's all great proper home cooked food. The chicken pie was amazing. With big chunks of chicken and ham in, with homemade chips, I would highly recommend this pub. I will definitely be returning for another pie next time we are in the area.

Came to Masham with our dogs for 3 nights- this was our little local 💖 The staff are lovely and were happy for us to sit there with our dogs and play Scrabble! Moroccan lamb was amazing! Great pub and not bad prices - was £8.05 at the White Bear for two pints and couldn't sit in the nice part... More

My wife and I had the chicken, ham and leek pie. We were both cold to the bone and just wanted some proper home cooked food to warm us up and wow this did the job. Big chunks of chicken and ham In a lovely source. Also, I'm not that bothered about chips but these were lovely. The staff were... More

We ate here on Friday evening and weren't disappointed. The specials board offered a number of delicious sounding offerings whereas the main menu was more traditional. We both opted for mains from the specials board. I had spicy Moroccan lamb which was lean, tender and flavoursome, served with salad, salsa and tasty garlic and coriander flat breads. My husband had... More

We had been looking forward to visiting this pub for lunch based on other reviews, but we were disappointed. The first thing which greeted us was extensive works in the bar area, which we were told was the installation of a new fire door... loud banging and drilling (why couldn't this have been scheduled for earlier in the day before... Group of six friends descended on the Bruce Arms on the way home from a lovely weekend break in Hawes. We were looking for a Sunday lunch in a great homely, traditional Yorkshire pub and that is just what we got. Sunday lunch very homemade, great selection of veg and a great choice of puddings. Whole meal without fault and... More

The Bruce Arms pub sits to the north side of the historic market square in Masham, North Yorkshire, offering real ales and a selection of spirits, lagers and wines along with homemade food. Our huge beer garden has a spectacular outlook over the River Ure and Lower Wensleydale, that’s why we call the Bruce Arms ‘the pub with a view’!We also have a children’s play area within the beer garden, while parts of it can be hired for free for outdoor events such as music concerts, theatre and dance shows.
