Amazing view, good-not-great food

This is one of the best places to get a tasty and filling lunch right on the slopes and everyone knows it so it's always packed. I recommend booking or trying at an off hour. The view is also the best in Åre, it can't be understated how nice the atmosphere is both interior and exterior of here. They serve traditional skiing food and pizza with local ingredients. It's all well made but I think the pizza is more of a tourist trap than actually tasty and the rest can be found at any stop in the slopes. It's good, just not worth the usual waiting times at peak hours.

View is wonderful, music deafening, food declining, still super busy

The big draw here is the view which when the weather is clear is stunning. The big drawback is unless you're much after 12:00 you will be waiting an hour for a table. They manage the queue well but the bar area is super busy and can feel a bit overwhealming. The decor and ambiance was always traditional, rustic with amazing food to match. Lots of locally sourced ingredients. They seem to have gone more towards the mass market though as they now have a DJ blasting out tunes (a weird mix, deafening 70s disco hits - who's that for?). Menu not as good in recent years, service still excellent from super hard working staff. Maybe I'm getting old but the deafening music coupled with the huge queues makes Hummelstugen less attractive than in previous years.

The best view

Like most restaurants in Åre: great staff. The most beauteful plae to have lunch. I miss more places to sit and just take a coffee though. The food is ok.

Can look nice, but if you are not in a group of at least 4 people, you are unfortunately not welcome. You may not sit outside or by a window, even if the entire restaurant is completely empty. Good advice take your money and go somewhere else.

Can’t beat the Location and the fantastic view. It can be difficylt to get a table for lunch so get there early. Service is attentative and Quick. Unfortunatley to my experience food is so so. Pizzas are good. The veggieburger is a sad story. Lacking texture and not packning any flavours. I want to agree with the raving reviews but to me it’s just average. I used to love this Place 5/6 years Ago..

Great atmosphere restaurant high up on the Åreskutan mountain!

If you are hungry after skiing in the morning, you really should try out this restaurant for a lunch visit. The pizza is great and the atmosphere is maybe the best of all restaurants in the Åre skiing district. Hummelstugan is also a perfect place for a beer in the afternoon, enjoy hanging out in the bar. The food serving stops at 1500 hrs and the drinks stops at 1600 hrs.

Nice situated up in the slopes with great view. Had pizza for lunch, tasted quite good. The restaurant is nicely decorated, though a little bit of everything, but all in all great atmosphere.

Place to visit when having a lunch-break in Åre

This restaurant is up in the mountains and only accessible if you are winter-sporting your way up/down the slopes. If the weather is cloudy in downtown Åre you are much likely to have a sunny experience here. Food-wise it was a very pleasant surprise. A generous portion food i.e. Steak with potatoes or Double cheese burger with fries will cost between 15-20 EUR. Try it, totally worth it. The place has an open fire if you want to warm your hands or toes. A couple or sofas for just a coffee or cabin-style dinner seating or high bar-tables for dining. Tip for beer enthusiasts: Keep in mind that alcohol is only served after 11 am in Sweden if you just wanna have a cold one in the sun out on the terrace. Had lunch here two days in a row and will return next time in Åre. :-)

Forgot our table.

Ate pizza here which were great. Crowded restaurant. They forgot adding forks and knifes to the table. When we were done the server took our plates and asked if we were interested in dessert. When we said no thanks she left with the plates and we tried to make contact for over 15 minutes to ask for the receipt.

Excellent pizzas and hamburgers!

A very, very good lunch restaurant with attentative service in the slopes of Åre. Me and my wife shared the "Pizza della casa" and the hamburger. Everything was excellent! During lunchtime it can be a bit crowded during their most hectic periods but it´s worth waiting!!

The best place to raise glasses on your birthday, in Åre! Quite fine and big restaurant, if you consider it's located so high. It has been there decades, at first it was just a small place so growing amount of visitors have made it like what it is nowdays...

Great pizza

Very nice restaurant with excellent views. Fast service. Great pizza and very good fish soup, it would have been 5 points but root vegetables were a bit too hard for a spoon, unfortunately. Creme brule was excellent. Wine list a positive suprise.

Heaven on the mountain

Stop here for hot soup, chicken, salads, hot chocolate or beer. Busy and popular! Hearty service. It is really nice to stop here for a break in the middle of the ski system. The view is beautiful. A haven on the hillside!

When the winther bemoes too tough for skiing, this is a nice hideout, with a fantastic view over the Åre valley.

Good food, great service

Went there for lunch while on the slopes. Nice girls serving us, got a window-table with vieuws of the valley. Food was great, and served quickly. Prices acceptable. Will certainly come back.
