Ate here 2 times........not impressed the first time so we decided to give it another chance.......not impressed. The first time we tried seafood......served semi warm and over cooked. Second time we tried chicken fajitas.....served cold and chicken empenadas...not bad but boring. We will not be back.

A big airy restaurant in town, lots of families eating lunch together, we went with friends. Nothing fancy but good fresh Mexican seafood. Nice selection of fish, they have many ways of preparing it, if you order the fried fish they bring you a plate of uncooked fish so you can make your personal selection, we really liked that, no... We tried this place a couple of times on our recent visit to the area. We were pleasantly surprised by the high quality service and the excellent food. It's a bit rustic (Mexican style) but if you can look past the well-worn fixtures and tired feel to the place, you're in for a real treat!

I have been eating here for over 30 years. Never had a bad meal. great assortment of tapas to start. All the seafood dishes are excellent. The pescado veracruzanao is not quite as outstanding as it once was, but still very good.

We ate the fish soup which was good even excellent, but the fish was overcooked so dry. Unfortunately no wine there.

The service is great. The food is great and the portions are great. I have ate here at least 20 times over the last 3 years and have never been disappointed.

We have dined at Los Barillos in Chixchilub Puerto many times. Their whole deep fried fish is famous in the area. Even folks from Merida come here to enjoy the feast. They have recently added several new menu items which we have enjoyed as well. The owners are jovial and engaging couple.

I went there with a group. Unfortunately I am not much of a seafood eater and there wasn't much else on offer.

We were on our way to Ria Lagarto and stopped for gas and I asked the gasolinero washing our windows what there was around the area to see. He said, “Have you been to the restaurant?” “What restaurant?” “The one in my town. Los Barriles [The Barrels]. Everybody goes there. You have to have lunch there.” Now, Mexican food can... More

The waiters have difficulty with some English but you can ask for a menu in English. Fish is fresh we saw them bring it in more than once. Been quite often and liked just about everything I have had. Could use a bit of a makeover but then again it may loose some of it's authentic style for the area.... More
