We stayed in the village for one month and frequented Il Frantoio often Pietro and staff are amazing and service is top-notch. We had a delicious lunch of risotto with ortica, cooked perfectly then lamb and tagliata, both very tasty. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant in an interesting space. The staff were very professional, friendly and perfectly attuned. We were impressed.

The restaurant is in a refurbished olive oil processing building, which still has some rooms and items from the old mill. We were able to compare white (fall) truffles with black (summer, etc) truffles – both dishes being prepared using the same very good tagliatelle pasta. The restaurant is underground - an old oil press under a seigneurial palace, cool in summer. The chicken liver paté was as smooth as goose paté - with nut crumbles to provide texture. The guinea fowl surprisingly melted on the tongue; the lamb copious and well roasted. The latte in piedi dessert a glorious dinish.

On a very hot Tuscan day we found this very charming restaurant, which looks like an old cellar. Very nicely decorated place, charming service an great music. We ate an amazing bisteca fiorentina. Desserts were also great!

We spent the last night of our two-week honeymoon at Il Frantoio for a cooking class and dinner! It was AMAZING! Attentive and knowledgeable staff and well presented, well cooked food. I only wish we had stayed longer and had time for a second visit. Sadly, they were closed on our last night : (

The restaurant is in an old building absolutely beautiful. Maybe an old place to make olive oil. The whole dining room is very nice and the decoration is OK. The food is very disappointing, not so much choice and our risotto was under cooked. Staff is nice.

Colle di Val d'Elsa is a very small Tuscan hill town and we did not expect to find such a lovely restaurant there. Unusual decor, excellent food. This is a really unique restaurant set in an old olive old factory in the old walled town. The food was nice, but could be better with attention to detail. My quail could have benefited with a bit of gravy or jus.
