The restaurant is located in nice, modern and comfortable premises in the city center. You immediately feel welcome and relaxed by the friendly service. There is a seperate lunch menu, and an evening menu from 17:00. Evenning menu consists of nine smaller dishes, and you can let the chef composite a five dish menu.
I had three dishes this time. The sea crab soup tasted and smelled wonderful, with a suitably balanced cream flavor. In advance small seed rolls and aioli had been placed on the table.
Flounder was served with skins and bones, making it juicy and tasty, served with tomato concassé, nuts and mashed potatoes. Really good.
Last dish served was pork neck with green pepper sauce and homemade potato salad. Unfortunately, this dish became too heavy and mushy for me. Enjoyed an extra glass of nice red wine instead.

We would have loved a table by the window in the first floor, but because of this place being so popular we had to settle with a table in the newly redecorated first floor. Which was absolutely good enough. The waiter took our order quickly and friendly, and we were quite surprised by the quality of the five course meal. Very good, and not too expensive. Recommended!

Out with freinds on a weekend getaway. Restaurant was full when we tried to order a table, so they took our mobile and called us when they were clear. Lunch was enjoyed by all six of us. Large fresh salads, good portion with fish soup.. and a large juicy burger for me. Friendly staff and good quick service. Clean toilets too😃

Took some coffee and a burger (no.1). Since it was very noisy in the main part of the restaurant, I chose to move to one of the seats by the window sill near the kitchen when there was a vacancy there... I was not immediately allowed to do this as the one female waitress thought I might be in the way of the service. I didn't quite understand this because why at all put seats where it was shown "d can be in the way" and it was certainly not in the way. I then said nothing and was finally allowed, but things were only going to be unnecessarily difficult. Seemed like if you didn't order a "five-course dinner" then you weren't really wanted. This is what I felt from the vibe I got from the waiter who took the order.
It should be a well-fried beef burger. Tasted like badly fried pork chop dough. Took a bite and ended up just eating the fries. The male waiter who took the food did not even ask if there was anything wrong with the food. Just asked if I was done and took and threw it in the trash. I've been a few times before but usually just for something fizzy to drink.
I have heard that the place is seen as a bit of a "luxury" place in Grimstad. Do not know why. Maybe that's how you become when there's too little competition. (I'm from Kr.sand).
Can mention one exception and that is the new manager (Cheryl). She provides excellent customer service, seems like she actually cares about the customers and looks like she works twice as hard as the rest. Unfortunately, one person alone cannot manage an entire restaurant, but that is the only reason why I rate my experience as "average" and not "terrible".
I am not exaggerating when I say, God be with the new manager.

Dinner for two, but unfortunately a mixed experience.
Appetizer crayfish is served slightly overcooked and lukewarm (cold), not recommended. The main courses meat both very good, lovely and well-balanced taste experiences. Creme brulé served cold, disappointing, as most manage to serve it warm and with freshly flambéed topping.
If you drink alcohol-free, this is not the place for you. Good selection of local juices, but served with 50% ice cubes, which in our opinion destroys the aroma. No non-alcoholic wines (which, according to the butler, do not actually exist). Otherwise one choice in local beer and one in cider. If you drink alcohol, on the other hand, there is a rich candy store.
All in all, the experience was mixed, but unfortunately we will not be returning.

We were 6 people and ordered burgers and pizza, waited over half an hour and had no one wait for food while everyone around us got. I asked the waiters why we didn't get waiting food and the explanation was that we ordered food with bread, but how can you know something like this when it is not informed in advance? Otherwise good food but some of the lunch dishes are too salty.

Had a nice 3-course meal last night, with good food and wine. What was not good was finding a surprisingly large piece of plastic in the tartare. We reported this to the waiter and she reacted with an "oh, good thing you didn't get it in you" - even though it was chewed on, but not swallowed.
Not a regret.
We perhaps expected a reduction in the price of the dish, but when the bill came this had not been done. When I discover this and point it out, I get the answer that "sorry, I forgot". No more.
We left NOK 5,000 with you, but got a large piece of plastic in the food and a response that seemed disinterested.
As we pointed it out on the spot without any further luck, we choose to point it out here so that this does not happen again.
Throughout the year, we have left a lot of money with you, this should have been handled better.

Very clean establishment, friendly staff, their fish soup may be one of the best I have ever had...
Local alcohol-free beer, «Nix og Nada» is definitely the best non-alcoholic beer I have had ever.
All in all, this is highly recommended!

The food was amazing! Ordered the 5 course meny that the waitress recommended.
They were not that good when it came to wine, and that could have elevated the experience to another lever if thats possoble! But the food 6/6 !

Accidentally stumbled on to Smag & Behag, but what a treat it was!!! Rural setting, outstanding farm food with a creative chef. I would come back for dinner if they woukd have me!! Love the small scale and friendly staff. Almost feel bad sharing this as I would hate to see it become too popular.
