We enjoyed our food and the service was 5*****. Recommend to save room after dinner, for the "flambe cremeburlee" Thank you Rose and Patrick for making this greater than a dining experience.

I don't know where to begin with the Seven Stills, for all the right reasons. My wife and I visited whilst on holiday in Moray and it was one of the highlights of the trip (which was great besides this!). The Seven Stills website boldly...promises a night as their 'honoured guests' and they don't disappoint - Rose and Patrick made us feel so welcome and provided excellent hospitality throughout, we felt as if we'd known them for years and were old friends. The food was amazing, a lovely blend of Scottish and French cuisine. My wife had the veggie haggis with tatties and neaps, the whole dish (alongside the sauce) was to die for. I had the vegetable tagine which was equally delicious, if we weren't in such a polite setting, we'd have licked our plates!! To finish we had the Scottish cheese board which whilst small, was the perfect end to our meal though we did look at the starters and puddings our fellow diners with jealousy as they looked delicious. It was a real pleasure to have Patrick come out and talk us through the dishes and the attention to detail he'd clearly given them, clearly he's a man passionate about his craft. Alongside the meal the drinks list was excellent. The specialty is Whisky, with over 300 available. Neither of us our Whisky drinkers but they had a great range of local gins, beers, ciders etc. besides. Thank you Rose and Patrick for such a lovely experience. Unfortunately the 11 hour drive from our home in Surrey means we can't return any time soon but if you we were local we'd be very frequent customers!More

We visited Seven Stills when we were on our honeymoon last month. This was the perfect intimate restaurant to visit. Rose and Patrick provided outstanding customer service, and made us feel very welcome in their lovely restaurant. The food, which was cooked by Patrick was...incredible. I had the Boeuf Bourguignon which was cooked to perfection. My husband had the Haggis Neeps and Tatties which he really enjoyed. Patrick came out to check we were enjoying our food, and he told us about the love and care he puts into every item on his menu. His passion for providing delicious home cooked food is evident from just one minute of talking to him. Overall, a fantastic evening with beautiful food. We wish we lived closer so we could visit more often! Thank you once again, Rose and Patrick.More

I had the lamb shank and my wife has the boeuf bourguignon and both were excellent. This is a small intimate (within the Covid guidelines) restaurant and there was an excellent atmosphere which added to the evening's enjoyment.

“Relax and dine” is what we were looking to do after a long drive from Edinburgh to Dufftown. Rose and Patrick are wonderful hosts and the message on their website - “The restaurant is like our home, you will be our honoured guests” is what...caught our eyes. We literally felt invited into their house in the way we were received and served. The ambience at the bar is fantastic and invites you to relax. Patrick’s passion is palpable when he talks about food OR the way he serves whether it’s the bread in starters or the amazing Crème brûlée as dessert. Rose is genuinely warm as the Host-in-Chief and between them they deliver an experience which is driven more by rustic passion than commercial intent. We visited them twice and loved it both times. They can be busy so better to book in advance.More

Dangerous. Seriously good food. Boeuf Bourgignon followed by Creme Brûlée … feeds the soul. A gem. Highly recommended.

With the guidance of our B and B host, we were pointed towards the 7 Stills as both a dinner and an experience. Our expectations were surpassed and evening flowed so smoothly and with a great atmosphere that we left some hours later full, satisfied...and in awe of the family that run the venue. It's not McDonalds. It's not Prezzo or Pret. The sign on the front door tells you that the food is an experience and you need to take your time. There are about 6 tables in the place and afterwards, the hosts encourage you to have coffee or a drink in their lounge area. Each course is sublime: created and cooked with an attention and love for the food and for the diner to have a great food experience. For food, wines, whiskies....the hosts know a lot! They have experience of the industry, the ingredients and the best pairings. We were overwhelmed. Even down to trying Scottish Cassis and comparing it to French Chambourd...we really had an amazing time. I fully recommend this hidden gem!More

We loved our experience at Seven Stills. The chef, Patrick, is the friendliest, most passionate soul. We appreciated that he came to our table after the meal to chat with us; it felt so sincere and genuine. Our meal was delightful. The French Onion Soup...was wonderful as was the boeuf bourguignon. Gorgeous wine choices as well. Overall, a wonderful meal in Dufftown!More

Ate here one night and blown away by the attention to detail and quality Patrick put into his food. It really makes you feel special on how the food is produced and the care and attention put into this. They also have a lovely garden...which is great for a pre dinner drink or even just a drink if you do not want to eat. A little more expensive than other establishments but well worth paying that bit more for what you get.More

The Seven Stills is a superb little French restaurant nestled in the heart of Dufftown. The food is excellent (highly recommend the lamb shank!) and Patrick and Rose, who run the restaurant, are hugely welcoming and very passionate about their restaurant and the food they...serve. The Seven Stills also has a beautiful back garden which is perfect for an evening apéritif, and an extensive whisky collection for all the whisky lovers who travel through Dufftown. Highly, highly recommend - just make sure to book in advance!More
