Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Food was good and fresh and tipical from Menorca. However two points lowered our score: - Unexpected bill: When we got the check we saw extra 10%... Apparently, the VAT is not included in the prices we see in the menu (this was the first...time it happened in Menorca) so you can expect that "surprise". This warning is in tiny little letters in the menu. - Unfriendly staff: We asked for a spot and the waitress firmly told us that they had none but several people were leaving. We waited anyway and another waiter "allowed" us to go. The waitress avoided us although we were always nice and speaking in Spanish, maybe she was having a bad day but it ruined a bit the vibe.More

Lovely reastaurant on the harbour. Very good fish and sea-food. One of the most superb paellas on the island. Very nice and accommodating staff. Make sure to book in advance

Head waiter was brusque and overstretched, without charm. Once our order was taken wine and water took an age to arrive. No bread offered. Our starters were were nice but expensive for what they were. Main course of clams was ill conceived and disappointing, clams...completely overpowered and lost in tomato marinara sauce. Pudding disgusting, almond cake smothered in sweet meringue. Fish cooking at its very basic and possibly it’s brilliance but absolutely not for us . Cannot recommendMore

Best Caldereta de Llagosta ever! The octopus balls, the clams and the sole were wonderful. The dessert (a kind of chocolate cake with hazels) was exquisit. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Definetly, a must try!

We have been lucky to get a table in this sumptuous venue as we came early for dinner. The host gave us great advices about the food and didn't push us to order appetizers as the paella was generous. All the dishes were delicious with...a special mention for the fried chipirons and the mix paella. We will return definitely to this place. Careful to book in advance if you want a table. Popular restaurant for locals and tourists.More

We have been to Menorca every year for the last 5 and always book this restaurant in advance as it is usually packed with well healed locals which speaks volumes, probably not your average Brit destination restaurant. I have eaten personal bests here including a...sea bream, lobster and a paella. Waiters could not have been more attentive. Reassuringly expensive. Children appear to be tolerated if quiet and well behaved.More

We went to Es Port with friends, table of 9 of which 7 had the mixed Paella and very disappointing, little meat or sea food , was just a plate of rice !! Service was non insistence, waiter never asked if we needed more drinks...or if the food was ok and failed to dish up the remaining Paella. Complaint was ignored by the manager not even a free drink or discount offered. Suggest you go elsewhere and gives Es Port a miss.More

We were at this place today for lunch, as we went for a paella instead of a langoustine we were ignored by the staff. The paella de marisc was over cooked and served without lemon slices. We had to request lemon slices nearly at the...end of the meal, no crabs opener provided, no lemon tissue either. The manager didn’t even bother to ask to my wife if she wanted to have more from the paella dish and after serving me for the second time with the crabs and other sea delight cold and over cooked. Next time we will try langoustine if we want to get some consideration and a bit of attention from the staff which was in hurry to see us leaving the table. Fresh product probably good but well destroyed during the cooking. With the previous good comments we were really disappointed.More

The TA reviews directed us to Es Port and the patron gave us a warm welcome. It was busy so we sat inside and ordered Shellfish Soup Soup / stew. Our waiter was rather lacking in charisma - but hey - we were there for...the food. The great streaming dish was a long time coming but it looked good - brimming with various shellfish. The soup was tasty - thin as water and extremely salty. The langoustines (2) were so over cooked that the meat did not come out whole. The mussels had little meat in them and much of the rest were spindly crab legs with no meat. The bread was thin and baked - similar to Melba Toast - we would have preferred plain bread to mop the soup. The bill which included 2 modest glasses of white wine came to 50 Euros which seems a lot for soup.More

We dined here twice during our week in Fornells [note - out of season a lot of places had closed or were just doing lunch, so our choice was more limited]. Service was friendly and the fish very good, if perhaps a little on the...expensive side compared to one or two other places. [their menu prices do not include IVA/VAT of 10% which is added to the bill, although to be fair this is mentioned at the bottom of the menu. Might be better if they included this element as other restaurants did]More

Their “caldereta de llagosta” is of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten in my life! Definitely worth a visit just for that. I also tried the lenguado, which was delicious and more than reasonably-priced. Friendly service and a port-side setting to top it off!
