An absolutely great place to the try local Guadeloupan speciality, bokit. It is a van by the roadside, but there is covered seating area with tables, chairs and brightly coloured tablecloths. The bokits are super tasty (ask for the créole sauce, which is a refreshing...mix of peppers, spring onion and other mysterious ingredients which come together to create a delicious whole), enormous and very good value for money. We had the complet steak haché and the complete poulet (chicken), which we would recommend. Complets always include eggs and ham, alongside chosen main ingredients and vegetables. You can also buy various cold drinks and crêpes, and on Fridays and Saturdays, sweet potato fries are available too. Would recommend getting there around 6pm when the place opens as people phone in their orders to come and collect. The place can look empty, but you’ll actually be in quite a long queue. Parking is free and next to the venue. Overall, a great place to stop off - would highly recommend!More
