Wandered into the restaurant and had lunch with family. Pricey but big portions. Food was ok not fantastic.
They were playing some loud trance music and songs which spoilt the ambiance. Unlikely to repeat visit.
Boa Mesa is a find restaurant, very convenient, located in central Macau. It offers proper Portuguese food, well done, served in reasonable portions. Don't expect fantastic contemporary food since it is mainly the traditional, typical Portuguese food that one finds on the menu. Nonetheless, the...cuisine is excellent and straightforward pork chops, grilled chicken, or an octopus salad are delicious. If you are visiting or shopping in the center of Macau, Boa Mesa is a convenient option.More
Great location in town and easily walkable. Crowded restaurant inside but we got a table immediately during a rainy day. Service was a bit curt but I think they were short staffed that day. Excellent tomato rice and seafood is a must here. Very good...food!More
We struggled to find this restaurant which had been recommended by friends. It was worth the effort!
This restaurant is nicely furnished to create an original Portuguese feel. The service was excellent. Our waitress cooked a cheriso sausage on an open flame at the table....Our food was perfect and in line with that expected from a good Portuguese restaurant. We will go back.More
This is not a big place just off the main square and does not look like much however there were no tourists besides us, only Portuguese people at lunch and it was full. Excellent clams, great grilled octopus salad, tasty piri piri shrimp. Too bad...they did not have the pork ribs as the beef short ribs were a bit chewy. Overall a very pleasant experience and a great value as well. This is real Portuguese home style cooking.More
First time we are trying authentic Portuguese Cuisine. The Grilled Octopus and Black pig main courses were delicious. And paired well with a 2018 Portuguese Red Wine. We finished with their Signature Chocolate Mousse. Not Expensive compared to the same cuisine back in my home...country.More
A overall good food and environment with pleasant service and helpful staff.
A genuine Portuguese restaurant with a proper Portuguese Wine List and other beverages, including Port Wine and other stronger spirits.
Menu is plentiful with lot to chose from and they have home made...deserts to satisfy that sweet tooth.More
We had lunch here after a quick trip from Hong Kong via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. We ordered the grilled octopus salad (tender & seasoned just right), Portuguese fried rice, clams with risotto (not sure what it's name is in the menu) & grilled chicken....Paired with Super Bock, cerveja de Portugal. Service was prompt & friendly. Try it when you are in Macau.More
Bao Mesa is on Travessa de Domingoes just below Cathedral Square. Opening hours are 12pm to 10pm daily.
Seating area is traditional, tables spaced fairly. Menu includes expected range of Portuguese including caldo soup, flambed chorizo, duck rice, cod cake, cod fillet and bacalhau (fish)...balls, suckling pig, steak and fries, seafood rice, egg pudding, egg tarts and sangria amongst others.
Location is convenient, staff friendly and service relatively fast. Boa Mesa is is decent place for a meal if you want to traditional Portuguese in between sightseeing around the World Heritage area.More
Found this restaurant on TA and was very pleased with it! We had the cod fritters and I had the shrimp a la chef. My companion had the grilled sea bass. The shrimp was bathed in a delicious mustard and white wine sauce and was...meant as a started but could easily be a light meal. The sea bass was a bit salty but still good. The basket of bread with oil and olives was a nice touch as well and the bread was still warm when it arrived at the table. The owner/proprietor was welcoming and kind. Would highly recommend.More
