The Cuan is a family run restaurant situated in the pretty village of Strangford close to the ferry. The menu offers a good range of locally sourced fresh produce. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The meals are always good -beautifully cooked and very tasty.I would recommend the fish dishes in particular. After your meal, enjoy a lovely walk nearby and admire... More

Strangford isn't far from us, but we don't often stop there. We stopped for lunch today at the Cuan. Good menu, locally sourced, with lots of seafood. The lounge was warm and comfortable with lots of interesting photos on the wall. The food was well prepared and well presented. Nothing pretentious garnished with words learned in chef school - just... More

I had to write a review for The Cuan as I was very pleasantly surprised when we visited. Three things stood out that make this unassuming restaurant different from any other I've visited - the friendly and welcoming atmosphere, the standard of the food and the cleanliness. When we were there Peter, who I think is the manager, chatted to... More

Dear Emma B What a wonderful glowing review with excetpional detail. Cleaniness is very important to us as it demonstrated the same high standards that we observe in all our food preparation. We do make the most of our proximity to the sea with a strong emphasis on seafood dishes, it is literally from the 'shore to our door', just... More

Stopped in for lunch with my family. Staff were courteous and ensured we were sat at a roomy table as one of our party uses a wheelchair. The atmosphere was good, with a hustle and bustle from start to finish. Starter of seafood chowder was delicious, followed by steak pie which was tasty, although I would have preferred thicker gravy... More

Dear hergeEurpoe I am sorry that you found the price of our sandwiches a bit high but it is in line with other comparable establishments in the locality. Unlike some of the wonderful sandwich bars in the locality we have significantly higher overheads and these must be incorporated in to our pricing policy. Yours sincerely Caroline McErlean More

We stopped in for a bite to eat on a busy day and got ushered to the back room at 2 in the afternoon. Food was average- steak pie had extremely watery gravy and fish was well cooked. No additional drinks though or check in on the food. The tipping point was when the older waiter came over at the... More

Dear Steve P As you mentioned it was a very busy bank holiday and the room you dined in was our main restaurant usually reserved for more formal dining not as you would suggest a 'back room'. I am sorry that the steak pie disappointed but i feel it is fair to point out that we sold over 60 portions... More

This a late review because I have hesitated to write anything bad about this normally excellent high quality restaurant and because the concerned staff pulled out all the stops to rectify the situation. We visited to celebrate a birthday in late June safe in the knowledge that the evening would be as near perfect as we had previously experienced. We... More

Dear jonboycab When i read your review it appears that there were significantly mor aspects to your visit that you rated highly than the title and score would reflect!! We disappointed you in relation to no non-alcoholic wine or beer, plus the lasagne and i am not quite sure what the issue was with the t-bone steak. I do apologise... More

The owners of the Cuan made us feel at home from the minute we stepped in. We even got to use the Game of Thrones gear to take some pictures. The pub and food were amazing.

Dear Stephen K Thank you for taking the time to do give us this lovely feedback. Please do call with us again - you could even choose to stay in a room that one of the Game of Thrones cast stayed in when filming Season 1!! Regards Caroline, Peter & Team More
