Service was a bit weird and not too friendly (hence only 4 out of 5), but the perche was DELICIOUS! I thought the atmosphere was cool too, sitting outside on the terrace and observing passers-by in the tourist filled street.

Went with friends buffet lunch. Lovely deck facing the slopes and we made the most of the sunshine. This time we had the buffet. nice soups on offer with a larger offering of the usual buffet foods from salmon to cold meats. last time I...was there I had the lamb shank (to die for) Lots of nice desserts. We had a great lunch at Bateau Ivre after a nice walk in the medieval village of Yvoire. Fortunately we had booked in advance for our large group. We enjoyed the "L'écorce de sapin" (fondue style dish), as well as the local fish from Geneva...lake. Kids choose from their kids menus, and the parents might have added a glass or two of Gamay even if it was lunch. Desserts didn't disappoint. Our family has eaten at this place twice this week. The fondue is outstanding and the service is very nice. We don’t speak much French, so the fact that many of the staff speak English was helpful.

From the outside it looks cute and when you walk in, you will find a simple but stylish traditional French restaurant. The welcome is always very warm and nothing is too much trouble. We has the fondue Savoyarde, filet de boeuf and warm goats cheese...salad. All were exquisite and prices are around 25% less than other places on the lake. Highly recommended.More

First of all Yvoire is a must visit for anyone going to Leman. There is a lot of choice in Yvoire, and as the boats arrive dropping 100s of tourists off choosing a restaurant can be a bit daunting. We chose Le Bateau Ivre, on...the main mediaeval street but without views of the sea. It was fabulous, I’ve never eaten trout like it. Add reasonable pricing, friendly service and a packed lunch time service and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.More

Possibly it's a bit unfair to comment on atmosphere, for Yvoire was surprisingly quiet in the evenings despite it being Easter week. As a result most restaurants weren't open. I had the local lake perch speciality - nothing very remarkable about it. I guess when...the bill comes to €89 for two (including a bottle of pretty ordinary local wine) you expect something a bit more than something that would be well described as "OK, but nothing special"More
