We called in to this restaurant. It is off the beaten track but well worth it!.The service was fast and efficient.Food tasty and the produce smoked in house! The staff were friendly. The place was clean and the best thing......there is a shop attached to purchase many artisan products, smoked produce, jams etc you might have eaten! Well done!

Reasonable place for lunch if you happen to be passing, but take your credit card and take a deep breath if you want to buy any smoked goods. Having said that the £60 a kilo gravallax would cost you £100 a kilo at Fortnum and Mason. Gourmet madness or do some people just have too much money?

Worth a visit for the wonderful fish and meats smoked onsite sold in their well stocked shop and their delicious lunches and cakes in their restaurant.

I would certainly say go here for lunch as the menu although not extensive is delicious on every front. We try to visit a few times each year and when you go choose a smoked dish which yes, they smoked themselves and so none of that painted on rubbish. Last weekend we took a couple who had never been before... More

I knew about the smokery side of the business but on visiting did not expect the lovely cafe that they have. The staff are friendly and the food wonderful. I had a smoked chicken and mushroom pie with new potatoes with herby garlic butter and roasted veg. It was all homemade and delicious. The shop has some wonderful foodie goodies... More

Good home made food and afternoon teas. You can book a table too. The menu changes regularly as the food is freshly made.

I only wanted a desert so I am not commenting on the main courses. The home made treacle and bread and butter pudding with an enormous blob of clotted cream was an amazing almost life changing unrivalled gastronomic experience. I am a gastronort of modest fame and I challenge you all who read this to fault this astounding desert.

Part of a complex of small shops in the countryside near to the Leach Pottery. Smoked fish a speciality as are large portions of good puddings.

Returning from Devon to London, this was an absolute must visit. Cannot praise this place highly enough. Set in the grounds of Bowdens Farm, with other enterprises to visit, one cannot reccommend too highly the standard of both the produce and the welcome. Please do book in advance as the food is so exceptional that they supply such establishments as... More

Great food and always enjoy our annual visits here when in the area on holiday visiting family. Had the soup and smoked chicken which was excellent. Price has increased a lot since it opened and such a shame they changed the bread and butter pudding recipe. It is not quite as good as it once was. We even used to... More
