Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A worthwhile day trip from Bratislava goes to the small, historic town of Trnava. It is about half an hour away by train. Arriving there I first went to the Synagoga Café, of which I had read, for a late breakfast. Besides Capuccino and Orange...Juice I went for the Bagel (of Jewish culinary tradition) with three types of spreads: Tuna, Egg and Soft Slovak Cheese. Quite enjoyable. The menu card is only in Slovak, but the young waitress in shorts spoke well English. Some might find it sacrilegious to turn a religious building into a café, but one must know that this building from 1891 was desecrated long ago and had fallen into disrepair. With its new use the attractive structure was restored and thus saved. There are still all the classic elements of a synagogue to see, the Star of David on the ceiling, the Torah Ark and the Bimah, the elevated prayer platform in the middle. Not far from here stands a second synagogue from the same period, but originally belonging to a different Jewish congegration (the Status Quo Ante). This is now an art gallery. In Cesky Krumlov (Czech Republic) is another, but much less atmospheric Synagoga Café.More

Not signposted but saw previous reviews when we decided to visit the Christmas market there. Really unique venue and good value coffee and cakes. Great place to sit and look at the surroundings, highly recommended. Only 30 minutes and 2.5 euros on the train from...BratislavaMore

V Synagoge som sa cítil úžasne, je to krásne a zaujímavé miesto v srdci Trnavy, káva je kvalitná a upražená na Slovensku, raňajky s ú chutné a je si z čoho vybrať. Odporúčam navštíviť! I felt wonderful in the Synagogue, it is a beautiful and...interesting place in the heart of Trnava, the coffee is of high quality and roasted in Slovakia, the breakfast is delicious and there is a lot to choose from. I recommend visiting!More

A unique setting for a CAFE I imagine. It was comfortable and the service was very good. Hot chocolate was average as were the cakes.

We took the train from Bratislava which is about 30 minutes. On arrival a taxi to the synagogue. It is really gorgeous, though the past history is a tragic, sad one. We did not like the cheese cake but it was pleasant to sit in...such a beautiful building. The taxi back to the station was stressful. The waitress told us to wait in the wrong place and it's difficult to walk back. Finally we got a taxi. The area around the synagogue is very pleasant with a nice church. Nearby we saw a very nice restaurant which would have been nice to have a hot meal. Overall it was a nice experience to get out of Bratislava and visit the area.More

Fabulous renovation of delapidated synagogue! Contemporary, yet you will be able to chat and relax within an intimate, glass enveloped booth-like nooks if you are lucky to find one empty; A busy but comfortable cafe that offers wonderful breakfast as well. An outdoor seating is...also available. Open all day. Enjoy!More

Interior is unique and in terms of the history of Trnava has been preserved with a great deal of respect. Service is polite, pleasant, and quick. Plenty of room inside and out. Could benefit from an increased service offering (more items on the menu) but...my experience here has been positive. Would visit again.More

Great place also in “covid times”, the service amazingly quick and polite and witty! Ristretto as well as the flat white very well prepared and tasty. And the place itself has genius loci you have to see for yourself. Enjoy!

Interesting and nice idea of reconstruction. Good coffee and delicious breakfast. Service could be more friendly but obviously it’s challenge in Slovakia to hire skilled waitresses. Anyway I can recommend Synagoga Cafe.

A great conversion from synagogue to coffee shop. Love what they've done with the place. It's a quiet refuge with friendly staff, great coffee, tasty cakes and comfy sofas. Don't give the place a miss.

We loved the atmosphere and flair in this place. Such a wonderful idea to turn this synagogue into a cafe. We were there very late and the evening, the crowd consisted of young, friendly and calm people. The staff doesn't speak English at all but...this didn't bother anyone.More
