Welcome to the West of Ireland and the idyllic village of Cong. Carmel and Frank Lydon established Lydon’s Lodge in 1975 and it still continues to be a family run business. From 1975 Lydon’s Lodge evolved from being ahead of its time as a victualler / craft butcher shop, to a fishing lodge, bed and breakfast renowned by fishermen for its high tea dining experience to the now Lydon’s Lodge Hotel. This family run business located in the historic village of Cong combines a warm welcome with old world charm. Lovely staff, lovely Guinness, and a nice, cosy atmosphere. We didn’t stay over and they weren’t serving food on New Years Day so I can’t comment on those.

We were visiting Cong and just walked into this restaurant to have a dinner. The staff was so welcoming and the food was delicious including the fish chowder, steak and seafood pasta.

We stopped in for a tea and ordered a few desserts. Mom had sticky toffee pudding and I the apple pie. Both were phenomenal but sticky toffee pudding was to die for... I'd return just for it. Quaint and cozy with fabulous service.

People in Cong 's street told us the food was very good there and that's true. Chowder, fish, mussels, risotto, hand made bread , everything was fresh and tasty. One of the best restaurants we found in Ireland.

A wonderful family run business . John and Stephan always on hand to welcome guests for dinner . Deirdre and her staff prepare wonderful food . Food served by wonderful staff also A 5 star rating from me .
