Why eat with the masses on the waterfront when you can tuck yourself away nearby in a quiet Mykonos town centre street and enjoy delicious food at Publico in peace and quiet? The fresh Mexican fare was a tasty break from the Greek treats on offer elsewhere. The restaurant is stylish, in a very pretty location. The service was great as was the music we enjoyed listening to as we ate. The lovely local beer on offer was most refreshing.

Absolutely fantastic food and service! Would really recommend the steak, and the Green Goddess salad!
I am coeliac and the waiters (also the owners) were so helpful and attentive with making sure I ate gluten-free and felt safe doing it!

I have travelled extensively in Mexico & the food at Publico was definitely authentic & absolutely delicious! We had Tacos & Cocktails, too many of each. Oops. The service was so friendly & efficient, I felt I was at a huge house party dinner Highly recommend

After a couple of weeks of Greek food, we wanted to try something different for our last night and chose this lovely Mexican restaurant. From the moment we walked in we felt very welcome – Edgar and Antonina are two amazing people who have made this place something special - they are passionate about their food and so professional, taking the time to come and chat to us during our meal, making sure that everything was ok and making us feel like special guests. Lovely great tasting food and the perfect Caipirinha coupled with great ambience, music and exceptional service, made this a memorable end to our travels. Highly recommended!

Absolutely unreal atmosphere, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Surprising to find some great Mexican food in Mykonos, you definitely get what you pay for in quality.

We stopped at Pūblico on a whim for a few drinks before our dinner reservation and we were very glad we did. The drinks were all incredible and you could taste the thought the owners had put into them. We had a small appetizer and were also provided with fresh chips and salsa, which was amazing and made us wish we had another night in Mykonos (we’ll be back). The owners were an amazing couple that were so welcoming and enjoyable to talk to, that we went back for a night cap after our dinner reservations! I highly recommend checking out Pūblico the next time you are in Mykonos!

Such a refreshing find! Mykonos is filled with great restaurants but they all tend to share the same menu. If you want incredibly delicious, authentic Mexican dishes in a comfortable location with a great vibe, this is the best spot.

Described in these pages as ‘a hidden gem’. Never a truer word👍
We were wandering the narrow lanes of Mykonos after dinner on a Sunday evening in late July when we happened upon Publico. We perused the menu and a sense of interest and a need to return to sample some of the incredible sounding dishes. When one of the owners engaged with us, inviting us in for a tequila, our decision was made.
We returned the next night, secured a table outside in the laneway and the experience began. Bespoke, amazing, Mexican inspired cocktails, some recognisable traditional Mex food and then some Mexican-Greco fusion food - not too much for our stomachs but plenty to excite our tastebuds. Add to that the warmth and friendliness of the owners. An ingredient mix that is not too common these days.
It is fair that we, simply, describe the foodie experience as ‘yummmm’ and such a welcome change from the other (excellent) Island food we have been enjoying for the past week.
It was and is a great idea to open a Mexican restaurant on Mykonos ( it’s only been open since late May ‘24), to complement the other fine eateries. It does so in a casual environment with impressive, inspired, food and drink options - and at prices affordable for all visitors.
Well done to the owners for taking this step. They have added to the culinary delights of Mykonos and provide an offering that deserves to exist for at least as long as its predecessor on this site (the legendary Katrin’s ) - a site between main laneways and, hence, with a sense of privacy on the edge of the vibrancy of the Island.
Give it a go, you won’t regret it.

This restaurant is so highly recommended as it brings charm and an ambiance unmatched in Mykonos. The authentic Mexican was phenomenal and definitely worth the try. This restaurant brings diversity to the town and is a great option for something different from all the other wonderful restaurants in town. Cheers to the couple owns the restaurant! BRAVO

it was a fantastic experience! The cocktail selection is impressive, with each drink perfectly balanced and refreshing. The tacos are simply amazing, offering a variety of flavors that highlight authentic Mexican cuisine. The ambiance and service added to the overall great experience. The best authentic Mexican spot to eat tacos and taste a bunch of different margaritas the cocktail list is amazing and food is soo tasty.

The wonderful restaurant! First time I enjoy a Mexican restaurant outside Mexico. Sublime food in an extraordinary location. The dishes are of an adequate proportion not to feel heavy. The spectacular attention; they make the experience even better and the love, passion and dedication they give make the experience sublime. We stumbled on Publico while out shopping and were very happy we did. The food was all very fresh, with carefully selected ingredients, cocktails complemented the menu perfectly and the service was personable and prompt. We’ll be dining here more than once during our stay in Mykonos.
