2 visits here in the last few days (apart from that I've bought local, made my own baguettes etc and saved myself a fortune).. 1st visit I ordered Carbonara, Garlic Bread and a beer. The first thing the guy brought out was a big bowl of cucumber mayo stuff they sell over there with an olive on top, which I thought must be included as I hadn't ordered it. I eat a bit of it but there was far too much to eat.. The bread wasn't garlic but but toasty bread with origano oil chucked over it..beware of this as it could break your teeth.. When the bill came sure enough the big bowl of cucumber yogurt stuff was on it..for €4.50, but I didn't order it. The Carbonara was very nice and there was loads of it so I paid the bill no problem..couldn't be bothered to complain about not ordering the cucumber yogurt..€21. 2nd visit was tonight. Ordered medium beef steak with chips and rice. The waiter was pretty miserable. Chips and rice were both tepid by the time they got to my table, and cold by the time I'd eaten them. Beef steak was basically fat and bone with a bit of meat on it. The meat that was there was nice but there was hardly any worth eating. Unfortunately I won't be going back in my last 2 days and will continue to buy baguettes from the local bakeries (which are fantastic) and stuff to put in them from the superb supermarket opposite Oregano's. If you buy local it's no more expensive the the UK.

Oragano is a good place to taste greek authentic cousine with a lot of options cooked with lots of care . i work in mykonos for many year and i buy food from them very often and i am always well served and happy . Clean tasty with many options . i defently recomend this restaurants for dine in take away

Highly recommend!

Our hotel staff recommended this place and we're so glad we took their advice. It was short walk from the Hotel Alkyon and it seemed like a lot of locals were eating here, which is always a good sign. Upon arrival, you can walk along the "hot bar" and see what the daily specials are. The portions were huge and we were not able to finish them. Our waiter felt bad that we were not able to take away the leftovers, and he brought us a complimentary dessert: an absolutely delicious panna cotta with some type of berries and sauce on top. After we finished that, he brought us little glasses of icy cold limoncello. Absolutely fantastic staff and service!

Smoking indoors is actually illegal in Greece!!!

There’s nothing more inconsiderate than people smoking and aersolizing their smoke throughout the restaurant. “As of October 16, 2019, smoking is not only prohibited in all public indoor areas in Greece, but also in playgrounds and other open-air areas which are frequented by children.” So when we asked the waiter is it okay to smoke inside, he said yes. There was a group of 6-men smoking like chimneys in the center of the restaurant. Food wasn’t worth the torture. Yes, it’s okay taverna style food but unless you want to smell like smoke, holding your breathe inside the restaurant, and/or wake up feeling like your catching a cold; then go.

Great food with fantastic Service..!

I ordered Chicken Gyros and Kontosouvli chicken and came to my hotel as I wanted to try something local and it was cold outside for my 1 year old. We really liked the Gyros but to our surprise, we were given Pork instead of chicken Kontosouvli Although I was very specific that I wanted chicken. I sent a WhatsApp message to the restaurant and the owner confirmed that it’s pork and offered to change it. Within in 5-7 mins of our chat, we got the changed order outside our resort. In short, food is very good and all reviews are justified. Owner is very nice and took the order with a smile and service is extremely great too..!! I will recommend it to everyone..!

A highlight in Mykonos

We had a lovely time at Oregano, the service was wonderful and the food was amazing. The prices are great too - really helped our student budget and the menu had something to please everyone. We really appreciated the lovely service by the manager and colleagues. Definitely a must when in Mykonos

Authentic Greek cuisine

Perfect spot to try real local cuisine. We were served by Mimis who took the time to describe all the available meals and to guide us to exactly what suited. Friendly and happy atmosphere with people that just care about great food and experiences.

Worth the walk out of the main centre

The waiter took us straight to the kitchen to view some of the dishes on offer and it is true you eat with your eyes. We ordered the pork with rice, stuffed eggplant, lemon chicken and gemista, all totally delicious. Generous size portions and good value for money. Also provided with a complimentary plate of fruit for desert. We found this place on our last night which was disappointing because we would have liked to return to try more of the dishes.

My favorite meal in Mykonos

This restaurant was great! Everything we ordered was delicious. It was all very fresh and cooked to perfection. This was definitely my favorite meal while visiting Mykonos. We had the chicken skewers, grilled meat platter and the taziki. All of which were delicious and highly recommended!

Wonderful place

We had a wonderful lunch at Oregano restaurant today. It was very difficult to choose something from the menu, they have a lot of interesting options. Finally we chose Spicy Cheese Dip, Shrimps Saganaki and Grilled Octopus. Everything was delicious! The portions we big, food was very fresh and tasty. White house wine was also good. We were lucky to meet the owner Teodor, he was very friendly and nice. Will definitely come back to Mykonos and to Oregano Tavern

Nice food.

Good atmosphere and great choice of food and wine. oregano bread comes gratis with your main.Also a free milk pudding. The prices are reasonable. Waiters polite, I reinforce all waiters no waitresses? There was also mainly men in the restaurant, so it not sure if it is gay friendly? Just saying incase this environment makes you uncomfortable.

Authentic Greek tavern! BEST TAVERN in MYKONOS!!!

Kalimera, authentic Greek tavern, I had the sea bream for 17, superbly prepared with salad, superbly grilled, super hot, just perfect. The waiter cut up the sea bream for me! I got dessert for free, the drink prices are normal, not like in other taverns, 15 euros for a glass of wine! The rose cost 2.50, so it was a gift! The sparkling water 1 liter was 4 euros! Super cheap! Keep it up!!! BEST TAVERN on MYKONOS!!!

Very local Greek restaurant

We went to oregano for a change as we haven’t been in the past few years. It’s not in the centre of town and is very popular with locals. Easy to see why… Food is very inexpensive and large portions. Huge menu selection and everything we had was fresh and tasted great.

Great late night gyros stop, except for the caged birds

Popped in to Oregano on a couple of occasions for a late night gyros. Really tasty, reasonably priced and good portion sizes. However, on the last visit saw the caged birds lined up high in the restaurant. They’re clearly traumatised, some flying in constant circles. Found it very upsetting. Please release them or move them to a more appropriate environment.

A win while in isolation

I came down with COVID while in Mykonos and had to isolate at my hotel for 5 days. Oregano came highly recommended by my hotel and I can see why. It was easy to order over WhatsApp (I don’t have roaming so this was great!) and food was delivered very quickly and always with a smile. Everything I ordered was very good and the prices were reasonable for Mykonos.
