There are a huge number of Indian restaurants in PDC. We chose this one as we were spending our evening in the Old Town and wanted a nice sea view - and boy did we get it!!
We had poppadoms and pickles to start (mint...sauce was delicious) and main courses with a side of garlic rice, aloo gobi and a cheese & garlic Nan bread. The food was absolutely delicious and the Nan was exceptional. Good sized portions and very reasonably priced - €65 for all our food, along with a good bottle of wine and a few pints of cider!
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner in a cracking restaurant overlooking the sea and stunning sunset - what more could you ask for!!!
We’re back in January so will defo return here for dinner.
Very many thanks, Susan & GraemeMore
We went last night for a curry. Have To say it was one of the best we have had. The Darjeeling chicken was so tasty and full of flavour. The Nann bread was fab. Staff very attentive. Would highly recommend you try this place.
This is our second Visit to the Palace of India in the past month or so
After a Pint 🍺 or 3 In our Favourite Sea front Bar The Kiosco with our very good friend From The Big Smoke ( COCKNEYS )
We had a...nice walk into Old Town to carry on with another Pint or 2 at the Dog & Duck then we wondered into the Palace of India
We were seated at a window table with amazing Views looking over the Ocean
It was Pitch Black so didn't SEA a thing 😱
We all ordered something different so we kept the Chefs busy in the kitchen
Going off what I ordered
1 Poppadom with sweet Mango Chutney and Onions and a Plutonium looking Green Sauce
Starter ) I had a Prawn Puree what was very nice and highly recommend bags of flavours
Mains ) I had my Old Favourite
Lamb Rogen Josh with Pilau Rice and 2 Roti's this time I had the Regular Strength Sauce 🤗
The meat was very tender and plentiful with bags of flavour with the tast of Blackburn I'm use to
The Pilau Rice was as always plentiful and cooked to perfection 🤗
As always I cleared the plate to the point no trace of food to be seen ( FAT KNACKER ) CSI would struggle knowing what I had to eat
Service 9.5 Missing Poppadom
Starter 9.5 Could of been bigger
Main 9.5 Small chunks of Lamb
Desert 0.0 As I didn't have one
The only reason I haven't given any 10's in my score is because I'm a Northern FAT KNACKER and there is always room for that bit more on my plate 😉
Overall I Rate The Palace of India and would recommend it to anyone including Soft Southerners 😆🤗🤗🤗
This is the best Indian restaurant in PDC. We’ve tried them all but this time after time is amazing. The biryani with vegetable curry side is fantastic and the tarka dhal superb. Can’t wait to return. Better than any Indian I’ve had in London. Well...doneMore
We had one of the best Indian meals ever here last night, we were a table of 3 and all enjoyed it very much. I had Chicken chat to start followed by Chicken Dopiaza and one of the best Nann breads. The staff were very...attentive and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. I highly recommend and cannot wait to return.More
Read that this was worth a visit and after walking around without being inspired decided to eat here. Great choice. It was empty but don't let that fool you. There was only me and the trouble so we had beers and popadoms followed by Chicken...Tikka Masala, Garlic Chilli Lamb, Onion Bhaji and Pea Pilau rice. I tried the rice first and it was really tasty. How often do you say that about rice. Chicken Tikka was not as sweet as at home but nicer for it and the Lamb was strong in flavour. There was a lot of garlic and I usually like a hot curry bit this didn't need heat. We had some complimentary honey rum and a baileys. I use Tripadvisor a lot but selfishly contribute very little. The meal tonight made me do so.More
