Sitting outside on the pier on a glorious sunny August day, two of us shared a wonderfully fresh seafood platter while the third member of our group enjoyed a toasted ham and cheese sandwich - made with real ham. I washed my seafood down with...a great pint of Guinness. With this weather and food, I can’t think of a better place to have had lunch! We were staying in Kenmare and drove out to Kilmack for a late lunch. I phoned beforehand to ensure they would hold a table for us. When we arrived Jamie (an extremely efficient and friendly young man) showed us to our table - a lovely...cosy spot beside a stove. We had mussels, a seafood platter with a side portion of chips, chicken goujons and fish and chips, served with brown bread. Everything was delicious, hot and fresh. When we went to pay we realised it was cash only - we only had cards with us. Disaster! But Jamie saved the day - he told us we could drop the money into a shop in Kenmare to save us making a return trip. Such a lovely and trusting gesture especially in this day and age. If you like seafood then this is a gem of a place hidden away in a very nice part of the world by the Atlantic Ocean. I highly recommend a visit to what can only be described as “Gods country”. The Seafood was excellent -...I had an open crab sandwich and enjoyed every morsel of it. Helen the owner is a fantastic host.More

We spent nearly a month in Ireland. Teddy’s is the BEST meal and time had. The muscles were gorgeous. The open faced crab sandwich incomparably excellent. The atmosphere so friendly. We can’t imagine how and why this little out of the way spot could be...so good. We are all “foodies” and each of us has this place on our top ten list. Small, totally unpretentious, superb food and service. Can’t imagine how lucky a person could be to have this place as a choice everyday.More
