Visited as a large party for a pre-booked meal. The pub was busy as the weather had been good and we were shown to our table. The wait for menus to be produced was quite lengthy and the staff then started to ask for our food order before we had even ordered drinks. Place was busy and our waitress appeared... More

10 of us went for a meal, some enjoyed their food and other not so (The pies did look a little hard!). We started with the Antipasta which was superb, one of the best we have had. Both of our main meals were excellent and so were our desserts. It was a Saturday night and it was busy, which gave... More

We were recommended this pub while staying in the area. First impression on arrival was that the pub looked good and busy, always a good sign. We had booked a table and were seated immediately with our drinks. Staff pleasant, rushing around here and there trying to organise everyone. The starters were ok, nothing to fault with these. The main... More

Only popped in for a couple of pints during a walk in the area. The pub has a nice garden and also a very good lounge/restaurant and bar area. Most impressively the barmaid was able to recall an 8 drink round with no mistakes when some wag said same again please. Very impressive that showed us!

We rented a cottage in the village for my husbands 50th & after reading the good reviews on trip advisor & the visitor book when arriving at the cottage we decided to eat here on the first night of our stay. The food, staff & service was fantastic, so much so that we ate here every night of our 4... More

There aren't enough pubs like this anymore. The staff are brilliant and always welcoming whether you are a local or just passing through. There are plenty of good wines to choose from and the choice of beers is superb with all of them kept in to top condition. The food is superb and is competitively priced. With Steak Thursdays, Fizz... More

Our first night's meal was so enjoyable that we chose to return the following evening and were, if anything, even more impressed. The staff were, without exception, friendly, polite and welcoming and the food was absolutely excellent on both nights. The four of us all chose different meals and everything, from the locally grown asparagus starters, to the chocolate and... More

My husband and I dined here on a Saturday night. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and efficient. We both had the Chicken Supreme which was delicious. We ordered a side of local greens which were cooked to perfection and not overcooked as in some restaurants. Will definitely be back when we are in... More

We came last week with family for a birthday celebration. We chose Thursday as it is 'steak night'. It's always very busy so worth booking. We all had starters with asparagus making an appearance and a steak each. Starters were delicious and everyone wanted different things with each steak - new potatoes, no chips just salad, no tomato. The waitress... More
