Forget all your normal expectations and experience this one-off venue! Fast service beyond any other experience, your main course will arrive 10 seconds after your your starter. (I exaggerate only slightly!) and will be wonderful. Order Canarian potatoes or you will have to navigate a gargantuan pile of chips. The fish of course will be exceptional, and then gasp at the miniscule bill, and you will want to revisit. €43.50 including a €16 bottle of wine and impecable fast service.

We go to this restaurant almost once a week and have done for a long time so I felt it was time to give it the review it deserves. Do not go expecting anything glam, the setting is very cafe like with a quick in and out service, although still a very nice service. But the fish really is second to none! The hake, the herring, the mackerel and tuna (when the have it as it sells out fast) are my favourites! The hake is the best I have had in the world. The prawns are incredibly sweet and beautiful, the chicken wings are nice, my sons favourite and don’t even get me started on the tomato salad! It is as if the tomato’s are grown angels. The potatoes and the chips are both lovely and everything is served with the best mojo sauces I have ever had. Even the draft beer is beautifully fresh, clean and crisp. All in all just a fantastic place to eat for the whole family and the bill is always very reasonable for the quality of the food. I cannot urge you enough to give this restaurant a try.

Nice meal at el cine, chips nicely cooked... came with 2 sauces seemed to be one “spicy tomato” and maybe a pesto aioli of some kind, both tasty. Seafood well cooked and fresh ... great for a easy and tasty lunch

Just a bad experience all round. This place was recommended to me by a friend and I drove 12 miles to get there. The initial welcome by the youngest male waiter was fine though he was casual and rather full of himself. He was helpful to start with in taking our order. He brought drinks and bread, but when we asked if they had butter, he simply said 'No!' His English was good enough to have been more polite. The only vegetables on offer were tomatoes and onions. My wife ordered tuna with Canarian potatoes, which were brought to the table 10 minutes before the tuna in an open dish. I had (frozen) chips that were overcooked. The older male waiter was particularly unfriendly throughout our stay. The impression I got was that these staff thought they had a good product which would sell itself and made absolutely no effort to engage with us. When our bill was presented, we had been charged for bread we had not ordered and that came without butter. The beer was the most expensive I had purchase in 9 days in Tenerife. If you read this and think it is me, please read my other reviews. I did address my concerns with the older waiter on the way out, but he did not want to know. I have attached my photograph as I want the staff to know who has written this review.

Although "El Cine" is located only a few steps away from the harbour front, it is surprisingly easy to miss as it occupies a covered alley which can't be seen from the main Paseo Maritimo. As I had received no reply to my email reservation request and there is no online booking, we joined the queue one Saturday lunchtime and eventually secured a table. I didn't expect a sophisticated and relaxing environment given the popularity of "El Cine", but I did expect a reasonable selection of simply cooked fresh fish. In fact, we were told that most of the fish listed in the menu was unavailable and we suspected that several of the remaining choices were probably frozen (langoustinos, calamari, octopus?). As a result, we chose sardines, mackerel and sword fish on the basis that there was more chance of these being fresh and we were reasonably happy with our choice when the dishes promptly arrived. Fine...but nothing special, and the only salad/vegetable on offer was a mixed plate of tomato and onion. To be fair to "El Cine"our visit was shortly after a public holiday, which may have impacted on the choices available, although the full menu (available online) was not particularly inspiring and, to be honest, we have much better fish restaurants in my home town! The wine selection was limited, but well-priced, as was the fish. Service was very efficient and just short of hurried, which was understandable given the volume of customers. In summary, "El Cine" offered a fairly limited selection of averagely cooked but well-priced fish; just don't believe the hype!

Forget booking a table and instead just join the queue. If ten are ahead relax you will be seated within circa 30 mins. Essentially a local fish restaurant. No pretences just solid quality fish and seafood. Our meal for two including four alcoholic drinks was under Thirty five pounds. Great value

We had been wanting to visit this restaurant for ages, unfortunately it was closed on our last visit to Tenerife in 2019. It was well worth the wait and we will visit again before we go home. The premise is simple, take the freshest ingredients, cook them simply and serve. Larger more up market restaurants need to take note. When we visited most of the diners were Spanish.... No need to say any more.

Wow - Wonderful seafood in a non touristy setting. Just off the Los Cristianos promenade, this restaurant serves freshly cooked local produce. Full of locals and lucky tourists to have found this hidden gem. Friendly service in a casual environment at an excellent price

El Cine produces consistently good food. We visited last year and so far twice this year. It’s a short menu that does not change but the dishes produced are always good and the prices competitive. You can’t book and you may have to queue for a table but it’s worth the wait.

Went for lunch, had the Hake, Octopus, Canarian Potatoes and salad. They do cater for younger children, our 2 year old son was a big fan of the octopus. The food was excellently cooked. Always love going for simple well cooked food. Will be going back!!

El Cine has become one of our favourite places especially for lunch. Often busy with a need to queue but turnover is brisk and the food consistently good. We opted for the grilled hake & octopus; both excellent. Wines good also and with very attentive service makes El Cine a must to visit whenever we’re in Los Cristianos.

We’ve been a few times before but very disappointed this visit. If you are just serving fish cooked simply, which is what we like, then at least cook the fish properly. We had hake & swordfish & the swordfish steak was completely raw in the middle. It was inedible. The service was surly & unfriendly. We won’t be coming back again, which is a shame.

9th visit to LC and we visit here at least twice each visit. The staff are great, they have personalities! The food is always awesome - from the grilled octopus (actually ALL the seafood) to the tomato salad. The wine list isn't extensive (red, white or rose) but it doesn't need to be because that's great too.

Have visited many times and have always been enjoying good food and service, but they have doubled in size and not doubled the service, and the kitchen can't cope with the volume. Ordered chicken wings, they came tried 3 whey were not cooked and bloody sent them back and changed them for a pice of fish which was good .when the bill came they charged me for the wings that I had tried and sent back disgraceful. I shall not ve visiting again .

Simply delicious. No attempt to reinvent the wheel or over complicate. Clearly a well respected local spot. Each dish was fresh and tasty, arriving as soon as it was prepared. The Tuna was a real highlight and we would certainly recommend.
