We found it by chance on a Sunday evening. Staying at the Premier Inn at Eastmoor but not wishing to eat there we drove 3 miles down the road to Baslow & came across the "Wheatsheaf" Car park indicated they were doing good trade, went in & was served by a very sociable person called Rodby, spelling ? Had Fish... More

Upon a recommendation from a family member we visited this pub for food and we have never been so disappointed with food. We ordered the half roast chicken each and within minutes the food was on our table. Now that's all well and good but if food is fresh, it doesn't take minutes to cook, so it was obviously microwaved,... More

Great pub - service was fast and friendly, food was cooked well and portions were great. Was lovely to eat and relax in the garden while our 3 year old played in the play area, a lovely large pub and garden with alot to keep the children entertained.

We arrived several hours before our booking but the manager was very welcoming and showed us the (unready) room and gave us a key to get in later. We then had a coffee and he gave directions to walk to Chatsworth. We enjoyed our visit to Chatsworth and came back later in the afternoon. The room was lovely and clean.... More

The fish and chips arrived quickly followed by chicken curry! The waitress who brought it apologised for the mixup, said she would speak to Chef. Almost immediately the... More

We googled the Wheatsheaf for their dog policy, it was "dog friendly" but that is not entirely true, dogs are not permitted inside so we had to go elsewhere. There is a large beer garden but no good on a cool wet spring evening! The pub looked welcoming and many customers but can't comment on the quality of food.
