Take a look at the standard of the kitchen before you eat here. The entire shop is dusty and full of junk, the food is prepared in a dirty kitchen with little regard for food hygiene.

Stumbled on this place by accident when shopping at the Four Square across the road. It's a fantastic cafe-come-gallery-come-antiques shop. Good food, absolutely brilliant staff, were happy for me to take photos of the place. A real gem for Methven.

Nice atmosphere with all the old stuff, much of it familiar from grandparents' houses as a child. Friendly staff, casual atmosphere. Yummy food, and avo mash was delicious, and so nice to have somthing different for a change (and we're not even vegetarians). As we were leaving we were even offered recommendations on where to go for dinner, complete with... More

The girls and I were on a weekend away and went here on our first morning. We were greeted by friendly helpful staff, great meals, amazing coffee and great chat and advice were to go. We went back the next morning and filled the staff in on what we got up to the day before and enjoyed another coffee and... More

Off the wall decor, cross between an op shop and cafe. Great service and food. Reasonably priced and lots of selection choices.

Warm welcome, delicious food, excellent coffee - memory lane galore... great selection of olde stuff creatively displayed - loved it... We've visited each time we are in Methven.

We love this cafe. Have been a few times and are never disappointed. Staff are friendly and the cafe itself is a treasure trove of old memorabilia. Games, magazines, toys and even hats to wear if you sit outside in the sunshine - everything to make your (and your children's) time more enjoyable. Food is excellent, especially the home made... After a good 4 hour walk on the foothills of Mt Hutt, the tarts and salads here were very welcome with several cups of tea out of a pot. The staff and owner are friendly and thoughtful, and the toilets clean. The atmosphere is old fashioned cluttered bric a brac, but the food is prepared with some flair in a... More
