A group of 6 adults visited here late on evening. Great little venue, good hospitality and small menu but done well. The food was very good. There were a couple of nice beers in the tasting platter depending on what style you like. A small but decent wine selection to suit the menu. A great place to stop for a... More

This brewery is great, in the middle of no where but so nice when you've been driving for ages. The owners are really nice and the venue is really well set up. Would defiantly be great for an event. I had the tasting paddle which is a must have on a first visit to any brewery.. we also ordered fries... More

Stopped here on recommendation from friends, and we glad we did. We enjoyed sharing the 5 beer platter tastings - it was good value. They were lovely to try = we loved the porter = but didn't end up buying any to take home. We felt that they really could do some much more with the interior and make more... More

Well worth the drive to the valley for a meal. Had the fish meal (orange roughy), chips and salad. The fish was fantastic and the batter nice and crispy. The advantage of being able to choose from a half or full meal is a great idea. Shared the chocolate brownie dessert which was divine. The staff were most helpful and... More

Have passed this place many times without stopping, travelling between Christchurch and Queenstown, but took the time to stop and check it out and break the arduous journey earlier this year My partner and I enjoyed a delicious glass of wine in comfortable and replacing surroundings Whilst we didn't have food, we saw some being served and it looked amazing... Dropped into this cafe and brew house on our way to Christchurch. It is a craft beer brewery as well as cafe. We had the bacon, cheese and onion scones plus coffee and tea. Very enjoyable!

Went to try it out with my cousins from Ashburton, who are both dairy and gluten intolerant. It must be so hard to find safe eating places, and sometimes there is little tolerance from staff. VBC however were wonderful with my 2 elderly cousins, the manager/owner is also coeliac and was a great help. My wife and I are not,... More

Very pleasant surroundings in the countryside. Good parking off the road. Service was very good considering they were very busy for a week day

Description
We offer good, honest, hearty fare. We are not fine dining, but believe in giving value for money. Our Blue Cod is becoming famous by all our guests who pass this secret on to others. The beers are all brewed on site and have had wonderful reviews from peers and those who like craft beer. Tasting paddles are available so you don't have to commit to just one beer. Our main ethos is to offer excellent, friendly service and give everyone a brilliant experience as they dine, inside or outside in our beautiful rural setting.
