This is a must stopover for the authentic and superb pies for our journey from Lake Tekapo to Christchurch. Apart from the others that we have tasted who has won the award winning, I must say this is special and come above all those. This cafe will be another top priority in my trips to NZ and a memorable one.

Rakaia has its salmon, Springfield has its donut. Fairlie needs its pie! No trip on the inland route is complete without the mandatory stop at this bake house. Venison; Pork Belly and Apple and crackling; Bacon and Salmon; Mince and Cheese; Smoked chicken and mushroom to name a few. Yes they do the sweet but it's the pies that are... More

These lies would have to be the best around, full of meat and flavour. I had a Venison pie today, it was just great, full of meat and a little Cranberry Sauce, just delicious. Well worth the $6 price tag. If going into Fairlie get some pies, good value. Very busy the morning. These pies can be purchased frozen in... More

Whether you have a nz classic mince and cheese pie, or something a little different like a salmon and bacon or the famous Pork Belly & Apple sauce pie. There is definitely something for everyone. If a pie isn't what you're after there's plenty of cakes and slices to choose from.

Randomly stumbled across this place in Fairlie! Ordered two mince and cheese pies for me and my girlfriend (she eats a lot of pies) which were absolutely delicious! So much mince meat bursting out of them and even little bits of onion thrown in the mix too which was an added bonus! Free usage of ketchup, cool decor, clean toilets.... More

On MacKenzie Highland A&P Show Day this was one place in town where we could get cash to pay for entry to the show -as the only ATM in town was out of action. Coffee and cake was very good and their pies looked really tasty.

Pies tasty and full to bursting. The crackling on the pork and apple pie was cooked to perfection. Everything stayed warm until our stop for lunch. Prompt polite service. On street parking.

The legendary "Fairlie Bakehouse" deserves every ounce of notoriety that it receives. The large selection of lovely & delicious pastries, (Chocolate Lamingtons, Custard squares, etc...) are only to be overshadowed by the bakehouse's fantastic meat pies. These perfect little hand held meals, come hot from the oven. Throngs of eager customers, come from miles around to enjoy the pies. Many... More

We stopped here for brunch and stood in queue for the pies and coffees. Somehow we were not served when it came to our turn and the guy that was behind us apologized for being served first followed by an apology from the attendant. The pork belly with apple sauce and crackling pie I had was yummy though. Guess it... More
