Found this delightful cafe on Sunday and got lucky with the last table, we were originally looking for a full English breakfast however were informed that they were doing roast instead, we were glad they were! As we enjoyed our roast beef and roast pork...which came with a wide selection of vegetables cooked to perfection... Just how we like them soft and not hard. The roast potatoes were perfectly cooked too, too many times you eat out and they are not crispy. I don't usually like marrow having tried it numerous times in the past, but the way they cooked this, I couldn't get enough of it! Only wish we lived closer, can see why it's so popular with locals! Lovely and friendly owner too.More
Always a warm welcome here and today; warm jam donuts too. What could possibly be wrong with that. Excellent coffee. Ah Halesworth; such a lovely town.
Really, this is just an ordinary local cafe where (we had Sunday Lunch) locals seem to come regularly. Food was just about acceptable - there was plenty of it but the vegetables were overcooked (except the cauliflower cheese that was remarkably nice) and the pork...was not freshly-roasted but very very thin sliced pre-cooked stuff. The only saving grace was the price which was on the low side. I suppose one gets what one pays for, but we would not return.More
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We do have a lot of local regular customers who we have found over the past 13 years prefer their vegetables cooked on the softer side. Our pork is Blythburgh Pork from the local butcher...More
Adding yet again another review to highlight the delicious Sunday roast dinners served at Edwards restaurant . I have not cooked a Sunday roast at home for several years now preferring Kevin's cooking and Karen's cheerful banter whilst serving us. Also food is served fairly...quickly which we like and the cost is very reasonable. One has a choice of a small or normal size plate with a good portion of a meat, chicken, lamb, or beef . There is an abundance of different vegetables to help yourself to.More
Thank you Becky. I’m so please you have had ANOTHER great Sunday lunch. Hope to welcome you back again soon.
Lunch was a very ordinary roast however pud was a fab syrup sponge so good marks for good home cooked food at fair prices.
Thank you Louise for taking the time to leave a review. I’m so please you enjoyed the Home made Syrup Sponge it is one of my favourites.
Having got over Christmas and New Year, we decided it was time for a Sunday roast. As Edwards does the best roast dinner this side Neptune, it wasn't difficult to decide where to go. Yet another excellently cooked and presented roast chicken dinner with all...the trimmings (apart from stuffing - don't like it - sorry Kevin, not your fault). The boss had roast pork, which she enjoyed so much, she couldn't manage a dessert (first time for everything!) All accompanied by Karen's witticisms. Brilliant.More
Thank you Paul. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Decided to have an early turkey roast to get into the Christmas spirit and this place did not disappoint. You’d be crackers not to try the roasts in the next decade, if you’ve not been in before. There was no room at this inn during...the lunchtime service. Plenty of fresh cooked veg and lovely gravy to cover the pigs in their blankets. Xmas pudding to follow and then a small enhanced coffee with a mince pie. Fantastic. Sensible price for an excellent meal.More
After a trip to the great Halesworth metropolis, the wife brought back (amongst other goodies) a Rocky Road slice and an Eccles cake. Given the choice, the boss chose the choccy one (imagine my surprise). However, (much to my delight) she couldn't eat it all!!!...(surfeit of richness - bring it on!!). Consequently I had to eat both the Eccles cake and half the Rocky. Oh joy. Thanks Kevin - you're a star.More
The most delicious food at the best prices. Have been many times and so value the welcome and friendliness of Karen who is a local treasure. She knows her customers and has a wonderful sense of humour. Her husband’s cooking is master chef status and...I have never been disappointed. Kevin - can you make a “melktert’? That would make my day!! If you are ever in Halesworth - Edwards is a definite must visit.More
