The steady stream of customers queuing at any time of the day says it all. This has to be the best fish and chip shop for miles it beats Harry Ramsdons hands down. Few fish and chip shops have so many staff it is guaranteed busy from open to closing time. The speed of service, special paper bags and efficiency... More

We enjoy Georges Tradition food so much that we travel from Coventry to enjoy the food they serve. This is a round trip of over 100 miles but we think it is well worth it. The staff are very friendly and super efficient and make everyone feel special customers. Our daughter who is at University in Leicester insists that we... More

This place cannot be criticised at all. The batter on the fish has got to be one of the best I have ever tasted- certainly from a small 'takeaway' (even though we ate in the restaurant.... I'm guessing food is cooked centrally for both sides?). Not oily or greasy it's gorgeous. The young lady that served us Abby was an... More

Just home from my visit. Staff far far too busy larking about with the radio blasting out.Absolutely no sense of urgency or decorum.Customers seemed secondary to the fun they was all having with the hose near the sink. Health and safety would have had a field day with the totally unprofessional attitude and virtually every member.Shocking !

We have been to the restaurant here many times and the food is consistently good. The best fish and chips for miles around. Must be because we travel 15 miles to get here! The service is always friendly. George's other restaurants in Belper and Ilkeston are also good, but since the Chellaston restaurant closed( such a shame) this one is... More

We have visited this restaurant on several occassions and know the food is cooked to order but, if you order hadfock, you may have to wait so long you wonder if the staff have gone to catch it! When it evenntually get served it is worth the wait just do not be in a hurry.

We normally use Goerge's for takeaways. Queues can be long as the place is usually busy, however service is polite and relatively quick and (most importantly) the food is of a fairly constant high standard. The chips are well cooked and fresh and the fish, pies, sausages, etc are always excellent. This Georges also has a small restaurant section -... More

The food is fantastic and a recommended place to visit to have and enjoy this culinary experience of consuming some of the best fish and chips you could wish for, a 'must place to... More

We can always rely on great chips, fish and pies at our local Chilwell Georges. The staff are really polite and its a pleasure to be served by them. Well done.
