Lovely reception, lovely dinning room, excellent service, food was good also, not cheap but fair. You might not expect this in a heavy tourist area---but never fear this place is good

Of the many places we have stayed in all over the world, la Belle Etoil has to take the prize. The owners dedication to fullfil even the smallest request is always executed with grace and a smile. Their staff are treated like family and from them also, nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant most nights -... More

I reviewed this last in 2013 - last time I said it represented excellent food at good value with great service and a lovely location. After a first visit for this year I can honestly say it got even better. The food was delicate, beautifully flavoured and presented well. The menu du jour options represented the best of the season... More

This has always been a favorite of mine for a special dining experience. The quality of the service and the food can't be beat, not to mention the romantic atmosphere of the patio overlooking the Dordogne River at Sunset.

My husband and I ate here twice, for our first experience was so wonderful that we wanted to treat ourselves to another meal. Quality and selections were excellent and the servers attentive. This is a must if staying in the area.

We booked a table there for our last evening in France - booking is a must, even off-season. The place is stunningly beautiful, and the staff is nothing but kind and attentive. Unfortunately, our food - while beautifully presented - was so timidly prepared it bordered to bland. In a restaurant with such options and apparent expectations to its own... More

Our only regret with having eaten at La Belle Etoile was we waited until our first day in the Dordogne to make a reservation for dinner. Luckily we were able to get a reservation 2 days prior to our departure. What we found refreshing about La Belle Etoile is, unlike many other restaurants in the region, duck and goose was... More
