This simple place beside the library is pleasant. On ANZAC day we needed lunch. My husband had a venison pie and I had a salmon quiche. I thought they were both reasonably priced. I did notice the full dressed chips or wedges were way over the top at $17. My quiche had lots of salmon and was served warm with... More

$17.50 for wedges is ridiculous. $7.50 for hot chips is pushing it. $5.50 is standard for a thickshake but that was not a thickshake, it was a milkshake with a bit of ice cream. There is a difference. The difference is thickshakes are thick. It was also too small in comparison with other thickshakes in Masterton eateries. The service was... More

This place has everything to do with taste I feel. Whenever I go there there is always the most exquisite tastes in the foods that I can order there and that the actual food I get there is unlike anywhere else! It has the most exquisite taste!

Best omelette and coffee breakfast we've had at a cafe. Lifted our grade from what we thought was going to be very average. Ladies, if you can't make people feel you're glad to see them at 10 am then stay in bed and employ someone who is! We almost walked out. But we're glad we didn't. This place deserves to... More

We had lunch here and were surprised at how lovely the food and coffees were as the cafe is a little old and rundown. We had a great coffee and wonderful milkshakes for the children and their scones were fresh and yummy. Service was with a smile..recommend.

Originally Russian Jack's, then another I can't remember but their brunches were superb, and now Taste. First visit was unimpressive hospitality wise. Recently, though, I have visited several times and been delighted with options available, service and general hospitality. Much improved and now back on my "go back to" cafes.

I have visited this cafe many times both for just a quick coffee as well as for lunch for special occasions. The selection and menu lists are extensive and the quality of food is very good and highly recommended. I took my Mum there for Mothers Day and they had a special cake on for the day and also served... More

I love the pies! Big, yummy and homemade. If you are a pie connoisseur, this is your place! Coffee is good too. Its small and intimate, without the noise of other local cafes. The food is good and the staff friendly. Don't forget to pop to the little park next door to pay respects to Russian Jack - the last... More
