Me and my father had a delicious dinner here. Service was excelled and the food was to die for. We will certainly be popping in again next time we are in Kildare.

I was here for one nights accommodation on a stop over after a meeting and it was fantastic, the room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Walk in shower was a bonus. I decided to eat here as well and it was the correct choice, for...a Wednesday evening it was very busy but I was accommodated quickly and the service was excellent. Good selection on the menu and I enjoyed every bite. Breakfast was the same, a good hearty Irish breakfast with tea and toast. I don't usually enjoy staying away for work but I will go out of my way to stay here again if I require a bed for the night.More
On arrival we were made very welcome by David who showed us to our rooms and explained the eating options to us. We had evening meal and breakfast here and the food was amazing. Valerie served us with breakfast and was very attentive to our...needs. Would defiantly recommend the Silken Thomas to anyone visiting Kildare.More
I stayed here with my Mom & daughter for an overnight trip to Kildare Village outlets. From the moment I called, first to say we'd be late checking in and second to change our dinner reservation the staff were so lovely. The room was huge...& the decor absolutely beautiful. Beds were so comfy. Dinner was delcious as was breakfast. Staff were all so pleasant & friendly. I could not find any fault whatsoever. Can't wait to stay again!More
After reading reviews on Tripadvisor and the fact that the Silken Thomas was 3rd in the top ten places to eat. We were very disappointed in the quality of the food. My husband and I both had the roast beef dinner. Roast beef was way...over cooked and tough. I ordered the meringue for dessert and unfortunately again the meringue was brown and overcooked too. On the other hand presentation of the food & the service was excellent..More
I stayed here as a group of 3 from Sunday until Tuesday from the moment we arrived the hospitality was second to none the staff go above and beyond for all the guests , we ate here on both days and the food was outstanding...the accommodation is absolutely meticulous and the beds are so comfy ,there was nothing I could fault we will most definitely be back for another stay 5 stars 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 wouldn't be enough to rate this establishment. I'm already looking for an excuse to stay again thank you all again so much for a thoroughly enjoyable stay 🙂More
This is our 3rd visit to Silken Thomas. The previous visits were equally impressive as this time. The restaurant is always busy, which is usually a good sign of good food. We had to wait in the bar until a table was free. I ordered...some drinks at the bar and we waited just 15 minutes before being called to a table. The menu was small but had so much to choose from, all quality favorite Irish dishes along with some international cuisine. The service was efficient and the staff friendly and very helpful. We were asked twice if we were ok for everything. The fish and chips were as good as any seafood restaurant. Roast beef and the roast turkey were moist and delicious, gravy delicious, mash fab, so much deliciousness on the plate. 100% will return.More
This gorgeous cosy spot was so welcoming from start to finish...welcoming staff...food was exceptional as was the service...we also stayed overnight to do some shopping in kildare village the next day...the room was quirky and super clean..would highly recommend...bed was huge and comfortable...breakfast had good...choice and service was friendly and fast..we will be backMore
The wings are fab and the rest of the food was lovely apart from the absolutely terrible banoffee sundae. To the fact where its the next day and its still quite annoying to me. How do pubs have the gaul of charging 8.50 for three...scoops of ice cream and a bit of banana. It was disgraceful, nothing banoffee about it, tiniest crumb of a biscuit placed on top (it was hard to find). I'm suprised at the silken Thomas you need to do better tbh and I just want to shout out to the waitress, a blond lady (whose name we didn't get) she was excellent and served us anything we asked for. Truly very good at her job. 5 adults spent 145 euro with 3 soft drinks so it's not budget by any means but I can get by that if not being purely ripped off as we were with our two desserts.More

Stopped on our way through. Average food, sat us quickly. Stopped because of the high rating on trip advisor -didn’t wow us but was good
We were booked in to the Silken Thomas as we were supposed to be going to the Curragh but same was cancelled but we decided to travel anyway as we were meeting family from Dublin and the North the Hotel staff when we arrived were...brilliant, the lady that looked after us the minute we walked in the door was excellent in showing us our room in the Post Masters House which was lovely on checking in we went back to reception and the same lady looked after us for Sunday Lunch, our whole experience in the Silken Thomas was brilliant.More
This is a hotel, pub, club and accommodation all in one. First impressions were wonderful. Lovely big car park complete with a castle. Great food and lovely bar. Our accommodation was across the road. Room was lovely, about average size, large bathroom, shower over the...bath. Our room received the late afternoon sun so if it was hot could b a problem as no air conditioner and no bar fridge. That’s where the love stopped, bed and pillow hard, but the worse was the shower and hand basin wouldn’t drain away, so having a shower involved standing in water up over your ankles and won’t even go into description as to brushing your teeth. Bed and bathroom let the standard down completely. Room was quiet.More
Just left Silken Thomas after Sunday dinner. Myself and husband decided to try a few of the higher rated restaurants in Kildare.. This was number 3 on our list of places to visit. We had a table booked for 4:15 and when we arrived we...were shown to our table. Beautiful decor… cosy and modern. It was really busy but staff still had the time to be friendly and pleasant. Menu had a great selection so we went with skins and mushrooms starters. Both delicious and huge portions. We had pasta and stir fry for dinner and both were extremely tasty. Portions again were plentiful so I had my leftovers take away. We were gobsmacked when the bill came to only €78 for 2 starters, 2 dinners, 1 proper new York style cheesecake and 3 glasses of wine… I would have been happy to pay more. We will definitely return to do their Stay, dine and shop offer and will be highly recommending to friends.More
The food in this establishment is second to none. From starter to desert the food was amazing. Great choice menu and the service was quick and the staff were pleasant and courteous. Will definately return.
Very reasonable accommodation and rooms were very high standard. Close enough to dublin that you overnight there and convenient to Kildare Village
