We were staying for 2 nights in the Silken Thomas so said we would have dinner in the restaurant. And we were so glad we did!! The first night we both had steak, cooked exactly to our specifications. The 2nd night my mother had the...battered haddock and I had the stir-fry with added chicken. Both nights we found the meals to be a fair price and good sized portions. The staff were friendly and efficient. The menu was extensive. I could have stayed for a week to try everything I liked the sound of on the menu!!!!More

Made this our first stop upon arriving in Dublin as we headed south. Beata was extremely helpful during booking process several months prior and then welcomed us upon arrival as though we were family. Our room was superb with a beautiful bathroom. We ate in...the restaurant that night and our food was delicious. We would definitely choose the Silken Thomas again. Thank you Beata for everything!!!!More

Stopped off in Silken Thomas while heading to Kildare Village outlet for some lunch there is a great choice on the menu and service is very efficient. Very busy restaurant, but they will find a table for you no problem. Would definitely recommend it.

We were advised by the locals to give it a try and we had a go. From the start we had not booked, but very quickly we got a table on a busy Sunday afternoon. The food was gorgeous and very quick. Many thanks for...a great afternoonMore

Had a lovely meal here with friends on a Tuesday afternoon. Huge thanks to Brenda and Mary for all the help with the booking. Food was delicious, with plenty to choose from on the menu. Staff were professional and friendly, even offering to take photos...for us when they saw us struggling to take selfies! Couldn’t recommend The Silken Thomas highly enough. Already planning a return visit.More

Stopped here & had dinner. We had starters , mains & desserts. Lovely wings & potatoes skins. Tasty turkey & ham. Strawberry meringue was tasty. Friendly staff. Sat at the area with the red leather & would just mention the sides of the red leather...to my side would need a wipe of cloth to be cleaned but overall it was a good experience.More

We booked thinking it was a hotel, we dined in the bar on Sunday night, the vegetarian burger was not eaten at all but this may be a matter of taste. Our room was lovely but not enough towels, toiletries or toilet roll to service...3 guests. I wanted to get a drink at 11.20 pm to take back to my room, I was refused by the male manager who tried to tell me they can’t serve after 10 pm. This is rubbish, they have a bar licence and can stay open until 11.30. He also told me that it is not a hotel it is just accommodation, there was another gentleman that was also refused a drink to take back to his room at 10.30 pm, he was very upset about this as I am. I am on a well deserved break away and I’m so disappointed by how we have been treated from start to finish by this male manager. Any of the girls we encountered were absolutely amazing and so friendly. Our accommodation was very expensive for two nights without breakfast and we were not made feel welcome or valued by this make manager. We had breakfast on Monday morning, it was absolutely gorgeous, the service was quick and the lady who served us was just fabulous. The male manager made everything we asked for seem like a big deal, it just didn’t feel right! I spoke to Caroline this morning and explained what had happened last night, she really listened to what I had to say and took it on board. I am so impressed with Caroline and it is because of her and the other wonderful staff I will return.More

We had a great time here, food lovely especially the generous breakfast and the staff are really friendly. We stayed in the newly renovated house beside the town square. Beautifully decorated spacious room great bed only drawback was some kind of ventilation fan that stayed...on during the night and disturbed our sleep. I would highly recomend this hotel and good value too.More

About average. Went in to grab a quick bite to eat. I know from most reviews that people rave about this place but sadly this wasn’t the case for me. Starters were good, potato skins and spicy chicken wings, so it started out wellWe ordered...the 6oz steak sandwich and the roast. Fries were fine, steak was a little tough but the bread, it was like trying to saw through concrete. Roast, veg and mash were good, the roast potato was solid. Servers aplenty but no one asked if our meal was ok, I mentioned to the young girl that was clearing the table that the bread was solid, never even got a ‘oh, I’m sorry to hear that’ Yeah, it’s a nice place but I wouldn’t be running back to it anytime soonMore
