Great cassoulet in a comfortable setting on the river. Service is slow, but typical for France. Would eat here again.

The personel was good. The mussels where full of crabs... Maybe it's because I eat only Zeeuwse mussels. A cat was running through the restaurant. I don't care about it, but maybe someone else. The size of the food was even with the price. If you only want fish, go there.

We have been going to La Chaloupe for over four years and have always been drawn to this restaurant, which sits in a row of four establishments on the quayside. Its ideal location attracts a multi national clientele with varying tastes, allowing the menu to offer a diverse selection of choice. During this three week visit we have eaten there... More

Ate dinner for two, two and a half courses with wine and digestif for 80 Euro. Slightly off-putting pre-printed menu obscures the good quality food offering. A safe bet in Castelnaudary. Good service.

Really shocked having read the positive reviews. The service was abysmal - ignored for a considerable period of time. Three of our 4 meals were served together with the fourth much later and then incomplete - all without the slightest apology. Although fairly busy, just didn't appear to cope. Will not visit again. VERY poor value for money when compared... More

Very good food. Reasonable prices with main courses from 10 euros. Gets busy so worth reserving a table. Tables outside overlooking the canal.

Being regular visitors to Castelnaudary on our Dutch barge, we have eaten here on numerous occasions over the last few years and the food is usually excellent. This restaurant serves the best steak in the area and the thickest salmon, which reflects the professionalism and expertise of the kitchen. The chef goes that extra mile to make his product one... We ate really well. The food was delicious, the portions generous. They adapted the fish as one of us is lactose intolerant, putting olive oil instead of butter. Nice view of the pretty marine. Would go back!

We thought the food was simply delicious. Two of us had the roasted chicken and it was the best chicken we had in our two week stay in France. The desserts were gorgeous and delicious. I recommend the lemon meringue tart. The four of us enjoyed our meals and thought they were great quality and good quantity.
