We were staying in Playa Pelada for many days and were thinking of going to the Pizza place across the street but since we were in Costa Rica we thought we can get Pizza anytime so we opted for local Tico food. and we were...sooooo happy we did! the Chifijo was yummmy - rice beans, chicarrones aka fried pork cubes served with tortilla chips. so good!! and we also shared the Patacones aka fried plaintains that were super crispy and served with avocado, beans and tomatoes. really nice dish. No meat. was fantastic and we really loved it. the capirihnas were huge! we enjoyed our meal immensely and will be back for sure!More

While out on a little Quad run with our group of 6 we stopped for some refreshments, the restaurant was like many other restaurants in Costa Rica was wide open without walls, perfect on this hot sunny day. The atmosphere was great the staff was...very friendly and I believe it was a family that owned and worked the restaurant/bar. We ended is staying longer then we planned and got some food. I got the chifrijo (typical Costa Rica dish) my fiends got chicken fingers and tacos. We were pleased with all of our food and the price was very fair.More

The night we were there they did not receive any fresh fish or seafood. I enjoyed the chicken dish, The owner was very pleasant and gave me a digestif on the house after dinner since he did not receive his order of fresh fish. I...would try it gain.More

Nice and chilled out place. Food is great and prices are reasonable. We all had Casado, with pork and chicken. Portions are big with a nice mix of vegetables, mash potatoes, rice and beans. The pineapple smoothie was made with fresh fruits and it was...absolutely delicious.More

Stopped here for dinner after watching the sunset at the beach around the corner. Service was fantastic and the food was too. We had Casado con pollo and grilled Dorado. Really good value for the area. Would definitely return.

Had a rental right up the road and ate here several times. Easily my favorite spot of the trip. Everything was incredible, super fresh. Get the whole fish special if they have it. Chifrijo was the best dish of the trip by far. Thanks Mama....Happy Birthday Anders, thanks for the awesome playlist!More

You will enjoy the chifrijo! Best in Nosara, don't forget to order a Pilsen. It's mostly a ticos place!

We were staying near Tonito’s so we went for dinner one night. On our beach walk we stopped in early in the afternoon to check it out. The waiter was really friendly and said he’d reserve a table for us as he asked our names....When we arrived in the evening he greeted both my husband and I by name. The menu is totally in Spanish, but the waiter translated the whole thing for us. We ordered nachos to start which were made with pulled pork. They were delicious. Next our meals...three of us ordered the casada plates, two chicken and one pork. They were really good with rice, beans, salad, vegetables and the meat. The chicken was yummy, juicy and seasoned perfectly. My husband ordered a hamburger and he enjoyed it, though the slice of ham on it surprised him. For dessert we had ice cream with jello. It was a nice light ending to our local meal. Service was excellent thanks to our very personable waiter. Our bill arrived with just a total which was a surprise. Guess we could have checked it on the computer screen, but we decided it was probably correct. An itemized bill would have been helpful. Definitely try Tonito’s if you’re in the Nosara area.More
