Awesome food, coffee and delicious smoothies. So relaxing on a sunny day sitting outside in the garden. Kids love climbing the big tree while we enjoy the sunshine. Best vegetarian food. Friendly staff too!

Nice little walk down the road from the Driving Creek Railway, this place was recommended and did not disappoint. Food was very tasty and lovely spot to have lunch.

Ambience is one of the best. Food is equally good. However, in my cookie I found a small hair. Apart from that, no room to complain.

Great location with gardens and bush backdrop. Food was great and the fruit smoothies absolutely super. Browsed the second hand books but nothing quite caught the eye. Loved the eclectic music but even though I am said ,by some, to be hard of hearing it was a little too loud for lunchtime in the country. Not a biggie but note... More

A rare beast in New Zealand - a cafe serving a good range of excellent (vegetarian) food. Set in lovely surroundings and with a good bookshop as part of it this is somewhere to relax and enjoy. Dishes have a slightly different take to normal but that makes them more interesting and even more tasty as tha balances are just... More

We had a great Breakfast at Driving Creek Cafe. Fast service with delicious food and great coffee,a place we would visit again when we are next in the area. Its in a peaceful setting just out of the town not your typical cafe. There were lots of interesting books to have a look at while at the cafe.

We found the Driving Creek Cafe on our way to the Driving Creek Railway. It's about 100 metres down the road from the entrance to the Driving Creek Railway. To get to the cafe entrance you drive your car (no motorhomes please) up a short steep driveway and hope to find a parking place (there's only three of four spaces).... More

Description
The Driving Creek Cafe is one of the best kept secrets of Coromandel Town - a warm and homely vegetarian cafe with a magical ambiance that may just keep you there enjoying the fine coffee or teas and delicious home made meals and cakes for much longer than you originally intended. Unless of course you're on a train, in which case we will prepare your order with much speed and gusto! You will also find fresh pressed juices, fresh fruit smoothies, and incredible homemade Chai whose recipe was procured after years of dedicated service to a Master Artisan. The Driving Creek Cafe has organic loose-leaf teas and great LaLa organic coffee. Enjoy our freshly baked gourmet cakes and scones, falafel burgers, breakfasts and a great range of toasted sandwiches, tasty beaches and salads. For keeping in contact we do have great unlimited free Wi-Fi. Allow yourself enough time to check out the collection of Mick the Plumber's stunning puzzle boxes showcasing Coromandel's unique tolerance for what may be considered art or drop in for one of our live rants. Discover the peace of our garden with a sandpit and playhouse for the children or put your feet up on the wide sun-drenched deck. Get ready for a treat. We look forward to serving you!
