A break from all the mass catering or fast food eateries in De Koog. Based in one of the towns better hotels, cooking is French influenced with a varied menu. My beef starter was delectable. Mains of fish extremely well cooked but surprisingly mains were accompanied by fries !. Desert was as delectable as the starter. Good wine selection. Overall... More

We stayed at the Greenside hotel and enjoyed dinner at Wambinge one night. The food is really nice, the service is excellent and the price is ok. It is certainly not a cheap eat, but you get value for money.

The four of us really had a very nice diner. Typical food of the area, very tasty. Nice wine selection at acceptable prices. We all selected the three courses menu. Starters were very nice. Three of us choose the raw (local) meat tartare and the fourth one had the halibut. We all had the very tender local meat as a... More

We had booked the Taste of Texel thinking we would have a menu based on things from the Island of Texel, such as the lamb. However, nothing on the menu that night was "special" it was all something we could eat at any other place in the Netherlands. Food was prepared well and did taste good though, but we would... More

The ambulance and service in this restaurant (part of a hotel) are attractive. However, the dishes are of average appeal. The starter, a carpaccio was good, but the main dish was modest: lamb that was rather tasteless and dry, even the thigh, which normally is juicy. Finally, the wine was OK, but clearly from a not so good harvest 2011,... More

Actually the Wambinge was fully booked, so we ordered room service. The room service is a limited choice from the same kitchen and it was amazing!! even the butter was sublime! We ate the fish (catch of the day) and a super succulent veal steak. Excellent food!

Trying to get a last minute restaurant table brought is here. It is a hotel restaurant so we had some reservations when we went there. We where quite surprisedby the quality. Not only the food but also the service by the staff. Portion size are more then reasonable. If you are around, try to go here for diner.

I found this restaurant on the internet after the received 'Waddengoud' (Waddengold). My family’s celebration could not have been more complete. I definitely recommend the surprise menu, which is affordable in comparison to the work and effort put into these lovely dishes by the chef. The service was good and friendly.

Restaurant Wambinge is named after the oldest village on Texel. Characteristic is the warm atmosphere and the fantastic location by the water. Here you definitely taste the heart of authenticity. The power of simplicity reflects in the tasty dishes. Restaurant Wambinge is based on the classic French kitchen whereby the products from Texel reign supreme. Naturally we let the seasons play a role in the dishes we serve. You can enjoy 3 to 7 course menus or you can make your own choice from our often-varying, seasonal menu. Whatever your wish, we will cater for a pleasant, culinary evening. From an intimate dinner for two to an extensive family dinner or buffet.
