Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We called here early one evening to have dinner, unfortunately we were turned away, the waiter stating there may be a table available in around 45 minutes, there were a few people eating but the strange thing was that the restaurant was quite empty, a...few tables had "reserved " on them and several tables with nothing on them, just empty spare tables ! Strange to turn away custom if your not fully booked and if you are why are the tables available within 45 minutes! A lady in front of us was turned away for a table for one! There were only around 4 tables with people at them. Spend your money elsewhere 😏More

Absolutely love this restaurant. The staff are so friendly and I've eaten here 3 times and booked for another night too. Food is wonderful, real mix of local seafood and grill dishes along with paella and rice dishes. Atmosphere is always great and I would...highly recommend it to anyone. Also great value for money.More

Always make at least one visit to La Casa Roja when visiting Playa Blanca, and tonight was just as enjoyable as ever. Excellent service, and the Angus fillet steak was perfect! Have booked again for next week. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely meal at Casa Rioja having booked a table. When we arrived we were offered a table on the veranda but as it was a little chilly we asked for a table inside. This was all fine without any fuss ( see...my other review ) We were given the drinks and wine menu with enough time to choose The food menu was a good mix of seafood and meats. Starters came and these were excellent followed by fillet steak ( cooked just right ) and Sea Bass I cannot fault the service and the ‘pace’ of the meal meant courses were served and at no time did we fell rushed. Highly recommend and we will go againMore

This place had a lovely atmosphere and the steak was excellent. Wine selection was excellent too. Have to give a special mention to our waitress Patricia as she was first class - she was attentive, informative and very welcoming this added to the overall excellent...rating. We had a special evening in this restaurant.More

We were recommended this restaurant and although hadn’t booked we were found a table by a semi friendly waiter. Although busy enough the restaurant wasn’t packed and there were lots of free tables dotted about. We were seated in the back room and then ignored...for around 20 minutes watching the very flustered looking staff rushing about like headless chickens. We eventually caught someone’s eye and were given a menu … but still no offer of a drink, in fact we were given a bread roll and butter Before any order was taken… which they later charged us for but we were grateful for as wernt sure what time we might get some food. We eventually managed to order food and drinks … it all arrived slowly and erratically and when we wanted any more drinks we had to get up to ask a waiter to come to our table as no one was particularly paying attention. The food was really lovely, absolutely no complaints there and if the service had lived up to the standard of the food this would have been a great diner Experience. The male waiter, an older Man was grumpy , curt and a bit rude which matched the rest of the service to be honest. We ate out every night during our stay in some fantastic restaurants, casa roja was Easily the poorest and actually only poor Service we received during our entire stay.More

As always an amazing experience, our waiter Rafael spoilt us from the moment we arrived, with his big welcome and a glass of bubbles. He has taken the time to get to know us over the yearsc and always knows how we like things and...recommends accordingly. We have brought many friends and family to Casa Roja over the years and it never disappoints.More

Of all the restaurants in the marina that we tried, (5 or 6), the food here was by far the best. Our choices, main courses only, were fillet steak and suckling pig and both were delicious and perfectly cooked, medium rare in the case of...the steak. The restaurant is in a beautiful setting, it has a lovely spot on the marina with very stylish design and interiors, it actually felt like something special, unlike the tapas and pizza places nearby. However, the serving staff let things down. They weren’t very welcoming (even though we had a reservation), seemed to be rushing everywhere and were generally lacking in charm. They were doing a job in a mechanical way rather than taking pride in giving good service, which has previously been my experience in Spain in decent restaurants. Bizarrely, they didn’t offer to let us taste the wine from the bottle before pouring it, they just poured out two glasses; this didn’t even happen in the pizza restaurants. Consequently, they would have had 5 stars but the service and lack of smiles meant they lost one; I’m perhaps being a bit generous but the food was SO good that it wouldn’t be fair to only give it 3.More
