Visited on the first night of our arrival and all the familiar friendly faces were there. We stuck to type with the gorgeous pigs cheeks, sole a la plancha and some wok fried veg. All swilled down with some excellent Verdejo wine.
The food in El Comercio is excellent. The salads are HUGE, the fish is cooked well and there is a nice selection of tapas to choose from. The house wines, both white and red are great and cheap. The only hiccup is that service can be a bit moody, depending on who you get as a waiter - to be... More
We visited this restaurant after a recommendation by the local phamacist! It was a pleasant Sunday evening and we sat outside. I had the gambas pil pil which was delicious and my wife and pals had the sea bass. Very pleasant evening. It lacks a bit on elegance, but was just what we were looking for and were not disappointed.
Always visit during time out in Benahavis ~ never disappoints ~ always Moussaka for me & fish for fellow guests ~ salad for all. This sit on terrace ~ side of road restaurante is all about food... Loved by Spanish it is loud & noisy. Never disappoints ~ all about the food .... Service is efficient ~ almost brusque at... More
We visited 2 years back and had a beautiful meal. What a treat again, the seafood pil pil is the perfect combo of spice and garlic and the lamb chops are heavenly, topped off by a crisp refreshing glass of the house white. Great prices for quality food with the majority of guests appearing to be local, which I believe... More
A short wait, outside table, 27 degrees, classic restaurant with secure roots to Spanish culture with a very interesting internal restaurant, eye spy on farming and fishing influence??? Every time we visit El Comercio we have have had wonderful food and attentive staff and great budget dining, very family orientated. All children are made to feel very welcomed. highly recommended
Very similar to Alfredo's across the road, El Commercio has better outdoor seating and perhaps even better service than its rival. The food is traditional spanish and very well done. The quality is always consistent and the open kitchen is typically spotless. Try the filetitos de tenera if you can't decide and like red meat. Great bar as well!
