I've eaten at the Carpenters Arms a number of times. The Carpenters Arms is a traditional English village pub. It treats locals and non locals the same. The food is no-nonsense good quality grub using local products. The food is always delicious, home made and good value. They offer a good variety of meals and cater for vegetarians. The ambiance... We stopped in here after a chilly Autumn walk and defrosted in front of the fire with a cream tea each. It was very welcoming and a lovely place.

Visited for a second time and was just as good on both occasions. Very welcoming - Sausage and mash with Yorkshire pudding was excellent and the Fish goujons with chips also brilliant. Great place after a nice walk PS The dog really enjoyed her gravy bone (twice)

We had an evening meal here - friendly service, vibrant atmosphere (local families were mixing with visitors, etc). THe venison fillet main was immaculately cooked, as good as any I've had in a Michelin restaurant - and the local Miserden estate lamb burgers were exceptionally good too.

It all started so well with a warm welcome and a roaring fire. There seemed to be visitors and locals alike enjoying themselves. This is an ungentrified traditional country pub that promised great locally sourced food. The menu provided a great choice for both meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Our order consisted of the homemade lasagne, vegetarian sausages with mash... More

I visited the Carpenters Arms on a Sunday afternoon with my daughter and her boyfriend.I phoned up to check that they served food all day and was pleased to hear that they did and that dogs were also welcome. A bonus, as we have two.The warm welcome and relaxing atmosphere, with an open fire blazing, was great. The food was not... More

Description
A real old British pub with excellent pub food, All home cooked and made on the premises from as much organic and locally sourced produce as possible, including great vegetarian and vegan menus. There are Two great open log fires, and a great selection of real ales. A busy local customer base and a super friendly landlord. A bit off the beaten track so not too much passing trade. Which is a shame. Worth going just to say hello to the landlord's mad friendly Jack Russel terrier and his speed of light tail. Excellent beer and wine selection.
