I went to Krapihovi for a casual lunch for the first time ever and was honestly surprised of the amazing quality of their buffet. I never, I mean never, eat buffet lunch, but this was an exception and left me with an extremely good feeling....The owner was very helpful and pleasant, and she added a very personal touch to the meal and experience. The ambience of the old, exceptionally well-renovated villa also contributed to the experience. They had managed to maintain the early 1900th century feeling by careful selection of materials, and everything was done with very good taste. I'll definitely go there again as soon as I have another opportunity, maybe in the summer to experience the environment too. Thank you so much for a great lunch!More

Very nice garden surroundings in the summertime. Old, charming restaurant building makes the right atmosphere to enjoy traditional Finnish food. We use to have a family lunch at Krapihovi 1-2 times / year, or take some of our family's guests there for a weekend lunch....It is also a good place for a business lunch. Prices are a bit high, though.More

I attended a seminar and our Saturday dinner was at this restaurant. It was a buffet dinner and we were 120 people. I was wondering how this would go,but it was perfectly organised by the waitress: she showed which table was to go to the...buffet, so it went very smoothly. Without this guidance the whole dinner would have been a disaster I am sure. So my compliments to the organisation! The buffet offered all kinds of salads, fish, meat, soup, warm dishes and desserts... and it was all delicious. Everything was clearly made of first class ingredient. Italian sponsors of the seminar loved the food - I think think this dspeaks for the quality!More

Great Old building, polite staff and what a buffet! They call it summer buffet, all kind of fish and herring, cold meats and salads. Fresh bread and soup. Duck sausage and potatoes. All Very tasty. Desserts and Coffee included. Make sure you have enough time...to enjoy the Food and athmosphere.More

Restaurant is charming old building with lots of character. Food is prepared using mostly local ingredients. The buffet had wide selection of various items to choose from. The service was great but I think the prices were little on the higher side.

We were a group that had dinner at the restaurant. It was a buffet dinner with a rather small choice of dishes. Some cold fish, some cold meat and some vegetables. The only warm dishes was asparagus soup and a duck sausage. The only desserts...were two types of cake. I'm not a fan of buffet and this experience did not change my mind. The dishes were ok but nothing more and eating cold fish and meat is not my cup of tea for a dinner.More

We went with family and two small children. I assume the best package here is the buffet menue but we ordered a la carte. Food Tool therefore a while, but was good. And we enjoyed a separate dining room with our family which made it...more relaxed with the children.More

I visit here regularly because it is one of the only tolerable restaurants in the area. Their food is usually quite good but they have no understanding of service, especially with international visitors. Many times we have sat in the almost empty restaurant and never...see our waiter/ress again after being shown to our table. Depending on our mood we either give up hope of getting another bottle of wine, or dessert, or go in search of some staff. The atmosphere can be a bit too Finnish, considering they must have a lot of international visitors... Often there is a deadly silence where you almost feel you have to whisper. (If the restaurant is not full, which it typically isn't). It would be more comfortable with a bit of a buzz or some music. Even the waiting staff being more visible and welcoming might create a more hospitable vibe. The worst example was recently when we went in for Breakfast. A grim waiter pointed us to 'there are some tables over there', and after that disappeared in the bar area in another room (not that there were any customers there) and was not seen in the restaurant. He was so angry looking and never asked us if we needed anything, that I was too afraid to ask for an espresso! The tomb-like silence was perhaps even more pronounced because it was morning which you'd expect to be a bit more lively. The breakfast buffet was nothing special (even though the price was) - I've had better in many hotels. Please get in some staff who have a clue about hospitality and want to make people feel welcome and enjoy themselves, to make the most of this beautiful and special location!! And do justice to the usually good food.More
