Great view , food is not bad at reasonable price. If you are looking for a place to relax with great view and nice hot chocolate, this is strongly recommended !

After walking up to the summit this cafe was a welcome sight. We had carried our own food but very much enjoyed their coffee. Surprisingly, for a summit cafe, the prices were not particularly inflated

well worth the $8.00 toll to drive up the hill. Everyone friendly and good food and coffee. The views are exceptional over Tekapo, the Alps and the Mackenzie Basin.

Excellent fresh cafe food to be eaten inside or out. Yummy fresh rolls, in fact the best I had whilst in NZ.

Expensive meal here. A toasted sandwich costs $10 while a coffee is $5.50. Add to that the road use cost of $8, and your lunch is on the pricey side. Having said that, the primary reason for coming here is the amazing 360 views you get of the area.

Delicious food, cakes and coffee in the most amazing environment - we watched the weather roll in all around us and walked off the best carrot cake ever!

Wanted to call in here for a coffee but didn't need to see the 'attraction' as I'd been before - you have to pay at the bottom of the hill to get up to the top - didn't bother as I had water with me anyway but think the cafe may be missing out on business although I can fully... More

Visited Astro Cafe on our last day in New Zealand. The views were absolutely stunning. Coffee was great, food options limited but tasty. Had the pesto bagel and the highly recommended carrot cake.

We had fre ebrownie included with night tour of the observatory. We were told to try the carrot cake, so we stopped in after our hike up the ext day. Indeed, the carrot cake is super :-)

Limited menu at this stunning little gem of a cafe. I think the $8 charge to drive up is a bit greedy. The view on a clear day just can't be beat.
