Drink in the beach

We enjoy very simple and fresh foods. The coktails was gorgeous! This place offers a nice variety of dishes. We have enjoyed their drinks, desserts. It was a nice evening especially with the sea so close to our feet!!

It a very nice place and if you’re visiting Guadalupe for the first time this is a must place to go. Lucas the owner give us a very good service he treat us super nice.

Best smoothie/shake I had EVER!

While we stayed in the St Anne area we wanted to see how Le Gosier look like and decided to stop here for a lunch - the parking is fairly limited and we ended up parking up the hill and just taking a walk down through the beachfront (very decent beach as well!!!) to arrive at Casa Datcha. It's a fairly small place but its tables extend to the beach and that allows to accommodate more people - make sure to be in a shade as the sun is basically baking you there :) think of being on the beach directly in the sun while having a meal - the minutes add up and there is not that much air movement to help :) The shake/smoothie of the day I was believe banana/mint/lime + something and it was the best one I had ever - I got 2 of those for the record here! :) The food was also excellent - somewhat an asian/polynesian/caribbean fusion if that makes sense - everything superbly fresh and tasty! Service was super nice and friendly, the gentleman who handled all of us spoke great English and the menu comes in both French and English which helped a lot as well. Card as always accepted. Great place for a lunch or a refreshment while on this great beach! TIP: don't just come here for the meal, the area is an excellent beachfront and had we stayed longer in this side of the island we would have definitely relaxed here for much longer than just a nice meal

Dinner in Paradise

We were so lucky to have found Casa Datcha during our stay. Easily the best place to eat on the beach in Plage de la Datcha. We visited 5 times on our 7 day trip. The staff were so lovely, welcoming and knowledgable were part of why we kept returning. We looked forward to seeing them on each visit. They made an effort to speak english with us and helped us improve on our french as well. The food is fresh and delicious, the catch of the day was some of the best fish on the island. We loved that they did not use plastic or straws and had a commitment to environmental values. Beautiful cocktails and smoothies, and what is better than having your feet in the sand over looking the ocean.

A PLEASANT PLACE TO BE

One of the problems with Le Gosier is that it lacks good eating spots in town, and hotel food is expensive. Casa Datcha became my refuge. The staff are pleasant and have a good command of English. (French too, but so they should!) There's a good selection of food, though I kept to snacks. A good salad can be had for less than E10 and a couple of scoops of good ice-cream will cost E3.50. A pint (sorry, 0.5l) of K1664 cost E6. And, sheltered from the sun, you have a good view of the beach and sea-scape. If I ever return to Le Gosier, I'll return here. super fun beach bar

This was a great find. Really fun menus - drinks, food, service. We went here a couple of times during our stay. Sat at tables with our feet in the sand. Drank a bunch of rose, had salad, listened to good music and just relaxed.

This is just the kind of place you hope to find on a beautiful beach on a beautiful island. Great bar, good team working there, really delicious lunch food. Don’t be confused by it beach shack image. Delicious food, perfect drinks, reasonable prices. Stop reading now.

Nice place on the beach

This is a great little place on the beach. They serve some small dishes which are really tasty and some great drinks. The price is good and the view is even better!

Comfort food in a relaxed setting

The restaurant is in a beautiful beach. The sandwiches are good not great. The tapas were good as well. Bathroom is very uncomfortable. The service is limited by the number of waiters tending so many customers.

But, it’s not a restaurant. Lonely Planet tells me this place has an excellent Club Sandwich. With only limited space to describe a restaurant in the Caribbean LP, I’m excited!! When ordering the waiter asks in broken English if we would like the ham/cheese, chicken/cheese or salmon/cheese options. I’m a little confused because there are no ‘options’ with a classic Club. It’s set in stone. I put it down to lost in translation. 10 minutes later, a three layered ham and cheese sandwich arrives... 2nd worse Club since Bodh Gaya, India. Scores: No bacon -1 No egg -1 No chicken -1 No tomato -1 No lettuce -1 No mayo -1 No fries -1 General arrangement -1 No toothpicks -1 Total 1/10 (lucky to get that) Shame Guadeloupe, Shame.

Took ride into Le Gosier and had a coke on the beach at Casa Datcha. Nice little bar and grill on the beach with chairs and swinging hammocks for seating. Right on the beach. Parking very limited in the area.
