Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fresh and tasty food with a low key atmosphere! Perfect lunch before an afternoon at the beach. Photo of their specialty plate with local ouassou, chatrou and fish. Mafe with peanut sauce (not pictured) was great as well.

We were introduced to West African cuisine at this nice little place close to our hotel. I had the Yassa Chicken (chicken marinated in lemon juice and mustard with carmelized onions) and my husband had Mafe Chicken (baked chicken in a peanut sauce). Both dishes were flavorful though there was not a lot of meat on the chicken pieces.

Good place with several chicken options on the menu. Staff is very nice, still good to have some basic French knowledge to communicate.

Nice place with great accras, perfect planteur, nice staff and funny owner's dog :) Oh and bananas flambe are a must. We have been there twice for dinner and were not dissapointed. It can get pretty crowded after 8 pm so make sure to be there early to get a table.

Had a fantastic Red Snapper. Service was good. Planteur Punch were delicious & half the price of our resort. Finished with Ti Rum & they left me with the bottle. Not the Ritz but no complaints at all.

We wait 1 .30hrs for the food. One of the prawns was raw. The chicken was dry And over cooked. They served a table of 4 arrived at the restaurant after us.

We just had dinner at this restaurant. My boyfriend had the whole grilled red snapper which was prepared perfectly and tasted wonderful! I had the Moule chicken which is chicken in peanut sauce and it was done perfectly. This is a great outdoor restaurant with very friendly staff and great food!! Go here!!

We went twice. Once in the evening and once for lunch. On both occasions, we were nicely welcomed. The food is not fine dining but that's not the point. It's simple and very good. And it's good value. Highly recommended.

As noted Red Snapper was terrific. My French is rudimentary at best so the kind cook inquired in her rudimentary English as to our tastes. Settled on chicken in peanut sauce for me. Should have asked for more spicy(it wasn't at all), but very nice comfort food. An enjoyable meal of fresh food served with a lovely attitude. And the price is right, which is a surprise in Guadeloupe. Would definitely return.

It was quite basic african food, nothing special. You will get your stomach full, big portions. Not expensive if you compare to other restaurants at the area.

We ate here twice and the food was good on both occasions. Plantuers were cheap and this helped. First time we were overcharged but we were probably viewed as easy pickings following excessive rum intake. Never mind you live and learn so next time we added up the bill before going to the bar. Odd pair running the place but the food was really good so we recommend it. We speak French but that doesn’t help much with interpreting the menu, but the chap was happy to vaguely explain what it was. I don’t think you can go that far wrong as it all looked good.

I like my food fresh and spicy and this place gave me both. I got the impression that it's a small family run business, which added to the authenticity. On both occasions I was seated quickly and helped with the menu by an English speaking family member. Mains are around 15 euros and drinks are super cheap, 3 euros for the local rum punch ... so strong, that I never made it to a second. The food was my first experience of Senegalese, and the first dish I tired was red snapper, delicately spiced and cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. The dish just melted in my mouth. Ask for the hot sauce to accompany it .. but be warned, you only need a tiny tiny bit of it. The following evening I returned. I really wanted to order the same dish again, but thought it best not to form habits so quickly - so I ordered a traditional chicken dish made with a ground nut sauce. Portions are big, and at first glance I thought "I'm never going to finish this", but after tasting I decided that I was not leaving anything on the plate. Service is slow, and the vibe is more cafe style than a restaurant (all seating is alfresco under a covered terrace) - so if you're in a rush it probably isn't the place for you .. which is true for the Caribbean period! When you're ready to leave you walk into the restaurant and pay at the desk. I was able to pay with a credit card on both occasions, and on both occasions my bill (manually added up by calculator by the owner) was correct. All of the prices are marked on the place mat / menu - so you can keep a tally on what you owe.
