Prices are a bit toppy but its worth the extra for the enjoyment of sitting in a very well created time warp cafe

To die for! Lovely nostalgic feel to this classy little tea room. Spotted items from Brief Encounters in there + the tables proved a talking point, being old school lift up desks.

Called in for a coffee and cake. Asked for cappuccino and despite the snazzy coffee machine behind the counter that didn't look 1940's I was given a normal coffee and then asked if I wanted milk. The chocolate cake was reasonable but the two items came to over six pounds. I was going to pay contactless until told there was... More

First visit for a light lunch. Quite disappointed with the tuna and egg and cress sandwiches with a small salad and coleslaw, for £5.95 each. Very over priced and of the cheap supermarket quality that you would pay a pound for. Having said that the two pieces of cake we had were excellent and washed down with a nice latte... More

Great little place, one not to be missed at all, inside the station and the encounter experience, if you visit Carnforth you really should not miss this at all.

Had lunch here with friends. Must say it was 'heaving' and we struggled just after noon to get seats and were cramped on a small table.. The wait for food was lengthy and had to wait 1.5 hours whilst listening to the jazz. My meal was good but others were not so lucky with theirs. If you are not in... More

It was good to see the station buildings at Carnforth given a new lease of life and the cafe was resurrected as the Brief Encounter as it was used in the film. One can pretend that one is back in the 1950s. Andrew, the manager, is very knowledgeable. He is a double for Peter Moores, the former England and Lancashire... More

Watch out for the live jazz. Enjoy lunch (very good soup & a roll) and live music - free but donations to the High Society jazz band. Excellent service too. Lovely treat in 1940s environment.

Well prepared food in a faithfully reproduced scene from the film. Old till, tea pots chairs and tables along with coat stands. Yes you can imagine the time of the film.
