Hotel has a thatched roof and is set in woodland scenery, rooms have balconies or patio doors on ground floor, beautifully clean, rooms are bright and clean, have only eaten breakfast there but this was of good quality, staff are friendly, hospitable and accommodating. We stay at this hotel whenever we visit around the Winchester area and would always book... More

We visited the Potters Heron on a Friday, late afternoon to avoid in mad rush later in the evening. The restaurant & bar area upon arrival look fantastic. Great layout, great lighting and a great feel. We had our 2 young children with us, and the staff were very accommodating. However when the food came, only 3 of the meals... More

I recently visited for the first time in a number of years as I was in the area to see some family and friends and used to go regularly in the 90s. The place has had a major makeover but in a style so curiously dated and cliched that I expected Alan Partridge to appear at any moment. The food... More

The food unfortunately, what little their was of it was very expensive and not particularly well cooked. The duck was return to the kitchen because it was burnt, but was sent back to table by the chef ,who told the waiter to tell... Stayed here at the hotel as the final night on the way home from Devon and was disappointed. Cost of room was over £120 for the night. Whilst the room was large with a very comfy bed, the bathroom was straight out of the 80's ( as was the mould) We had a room with a balcony - that we... More

Stayed at this hotel while visiting Peppa Pig World with my little grandson. Room was clean and staff were very pleasant. Close to Peppa Pig World so not far to drive. Breakfast each morning was very nice and staff at breakfast were excellent.

Stayed overnight whilst in the area on business.Clean and comfortable room with complimentary toiletries and a decent complimentary tea and coffee tray, The evening meal was fine ,The breakfast was amusingly chaotic. I entered the breakfast area to be informed it was self service buffet. I helped myself to cereal and toast and then waited and waited for my hot... More

I arrived before my friend so got a drink from the bar and sat outside to wait for her to arrive. Unfortunately there were only a few tables that had sun, they were on the smokers side, most were taken but sat at one free at the back. I had booked a table online for 6pm, the bar staff were... We decided to try somewhere different and not too far from home. The restaurant was very nice and quiet. The staff were extremely polite, friendly and helpful. The food was really good and presented very well. After we left the restaurant, there was a collection of vintage motors in the car park - a nice surprise! We will definitely be... More
