This lovely pub is the "local" for locals but also welcomes visitors. The beers are well kept and the food superb. I recommend either the "sharing platter" as a main or the Mediterranean fish stew which is simply sublime.

After a long hot walk no better place to stop than here. Lovely pint of tribute served by a equally lovely landlord. He even organised a taxi back to the ferry for us. Great find

Lunchtime visit. Welcoming polite staff. A mixed ploughmans. Excellent cheeses, ham and bread. Accompaniments were just right. Washed down with a pint of nice cider.

Went to the Cross Keys to watch the England/Sweden game on the big screen. Geoff, the landlord, was in his normal Yorkshire mood, and some people may not be able to cope with his down to earth attitude. For me, it's no problem. He's always...More
