Efficient staff and nice table settings belie the woefully awful kitchen, which, on a visit to the loo, was seen to be chaotic and grubby, looking more like a canteen at a factory than an award-winning restaurant. We have lived in the Netherlands for ten years and it was honestly the worst meal we've ever been presented with. One meal... More

We were staying in the small town of Driebergen for a couple of nights and didn't book a dinner for Friday night. All places with good reviews were fully booked, so we went here. In short - not the the best place. My steak was tasteless. Same with desert.

This is beautifully situated and has the potential to be a phenomenal restaurant, but the service is really poor. However, the food is great and not too expensive.

We popped in the Wapen van Rijsenburg to grab some dinner at the end of a busy day. We hadn't reserved, but were shown to a lovely table by the window. The food here is not fancy, but good. The chicken saté (a Dutch standard!) was excellent. They didn't use chunks of tasteless chicken breast, but pieces of looked like... More

A wonderful location, nicely decorated and great friendly service. A good place if you want to drop in for business or romantic occasion or have a drink at the bar or have a meal.

As regulars of the place we booked Christmas lunch to treat our parents. Unfortunately the service and food were not as good as normal: we had to ask for drinks after the initial drink, main course was served half raw and cold and we could only gess what kind of food was served. We hinted to our waitress Marjolein with... More

Nice place for a coffee or drinks. Historic location, tastefully decorated, friendly service. Nice terrace and enough parking space.

We had a high tea here with 16 for our grandparents 65th wedding anniversary. First of all: on arrival they hadn't set up the room for us all and told us we had to get out of the room within a certain time. The food was partly ok, but most of it reasonable and not as pre-discussed and surely not... More

Het Wapen is a nice restaurant in a great building. Unfortunately ( but that is only a miinor thing) it's located at quite a busy road. The view to the adjacent church is nice. Food always good: we love the way soup is served!!!!!!! ( And no I won't tell you how, you'll see) Staff is knoweldgable and coutageous, They... More

Was invited to a High Tea but was very disappointed in the bad service. Waiters avoided the table badly - even standing up and waving didn't help. Had to ask for milk for the tee and eventually got coffee creamer! Waited 5 mins for fresh milk and then the tee water was cold:( Food was good.
