We were getting recommendations from left and right to visit this place, so we decided going there for a dinner.
The place is very cosy and the menu is quite long full of 'traditional like' food, big focus on meat.
The waiter immediately started to...speak Slovak at us, seated us, everything went fine.
The food was good but not great as everyone was saying, the main issue is the service, waiter somehow though i have ordered something else and brought us additional plate - which i didn't ordered, we have declined that plate and he went away with grin on his face.
When i asked to pay by card the waiter told me that thy don't accept cards but there is a terminal in the restaurant to withdraw cash.
Long story short, the terminal is the Euronet scam chain, so the witdraw costed me abut 20% out of the final amount, very very expensive, when you disable the DCC on your card, it will not give you enything. So the only option is going for the overpriced exchange rates provided by this netwrok.
Last but not least the restaurant is charging by default extra 10% for service(which is not the greatest)
Next day we went to similar place(see my reviews) in Moson, prices were half, much better service, no issues, accepted cards.More
Coming from Bratislava to try some good food. The dishes are pretty good. The atmosphere is very authentic, but the prices are really confusing because are in local money and not for a dish but for an unknown quantity, so you have to aware of...the fact that the final bill will be much over the one your are expecting!More
Nice location and good food but we are in 2019 and is not possible that a restaurant so big and nice and I guess also famous for the amount of reviews on the web doesn’t accept payment by “card”...
So if you come from Slovakia...you need to bring your Euro and you can pay with it but the change applied costs you some €.. If you don’t have money don’t worry, the restaurant has an ATM! Yeah exactly! so if you withdraw 50€ it costs you 57€ and some coins.. Ahh I forgot.. the bill has 10% of the total of service, so your tips are 10% of what you eat and drink..
In conclusion our bill was 46.50 in € but the waiter didn’t bring the rest!
...the service is disappointing. We assume there is very little workforce to chose from, thus the low profile waiter we got.
Still, if you can kope with a below-average service, the food is totally worth it, just leave your expectations behind!
I was there for Sunday lunch with my wife. We have seated on terrace near kitchen but it was difficult to see anybody from staff. After several minutes I went to take menu card by myself because the staff was not interested. Later came a...waiter and asked us what we want to drink – for the first and last time there. We ordered meals and waited at least 30 minutes. Next table (occupied after us) was served sooner than we were. The waiter took our forks and knives from our table to that guests. The food itself was average and tasteless. We wanted to pay the bill. The waiter told us that we cannot pay by debit card, only in cash (either in Hungarian money or in EUR). So you could take out Hungarian money from ATM there if you do not want to pay more in EUR. During the payment, thirsty yet, we have found out that they have service fee included at the bill (10 %). I do not like to pay for something which I did not receive. We paid food with tips and waited for waiter to bring us the rest of Hungarian money. We have waited at least other 15 minutes when he came to other table. After I told him that I am still waiting for the rest of the money he handed them to me. All the time there was loudly playing some Hungarian band which was disturbing but somebody may like it.More
Disappointed food and questionable return.
We were recommended from several sources to go eat to Sari Csarda. Based on positive reviews we went there, but we were rather unpleasantly surprised. Surrounding and atmosphere is great, prices are not expensive (but also not cheap for Hungary)...but the main issue was with food. We were party of 6 and we didn’t received food within same time period. And when the food came, it was not warm. The biggest issue was with my food – the most expensive steak (400g). Meat was quality but unfortunately very poorly prepared. It seems that the main chef is big amateur with almost no experienced. I ordered rare preparation but instead what I get was medium – well. It was totally destroyed meat for big amount of money. Chef had no clue how to prepare ordered steak. When I complaint (and I helped with google pictures for better explanation), waiter look at me and tried to convince me that the meat is rare even though it was almost dark brown. But he returned it to the kitchen and I were expecting than he will bring another new one. Instead he returned with the same peace and with the answer that chef told him this is rare (unfortunately I didn’t take a picture). This is very unprofessional for me and totally not acceptable. If the chef didn’t recognize rare with well done, he have no rights to prepare steaks. They totally killed the taste and it was definitely not worth the money. Also the other foods were no miracles and it is not worthy to go there just because of the surrounding. Pity, because we were really looking forward to visit Sari Csarda and we returned home disappointed. For sure, this was our first and also last visit. It is not worthy. And the guidance for us – do not order steak if it is not steakhouse.More
