Kostas Taverna is located in one of the best spots on the fine sandy beach of Stalis. It is run by Eleonora and Ilias, two welcoming, attentive and very warm-hearted people. Ilias often uses an expression that could be a motto of the tavern: whenever you order something, he will reply "I can prepare you something better than this!" And he is always right! In our short stay in Stalis we had the opportunity to eat some excellent food, truly home cooked, no commercial prefabs. In addition, the tavern also has two own brands of wine, white and red, with a wonderful taste. At the Kostas Tavern we found the best quality/price ratio that the Stalis resort can offer.

The restaurant not only has a really nice atmosphair, it also stands out due to its‘ exceedingly nice waiters that really show their love for the job. Meanwhile the food is very good, being prepared in a traditional way and served in large portions, all while being very well prized. Additionally we also got free desserts as well as multiple shots of Raki or Ouzo for free. Over all it is the perfect Restaurant for a nice evening with typical cretan food.
And thanks again to the waiters for the nice evenings.

This taverna has had a redesign and upgrade since the last time I visited Stalis and it looks and is beautiful! It is trendy and modern but still serves gorgeous greek food. We had a great experience having starters of Saganaki and Calimari which I highly recommend and Kleftiko and Lamb Chops for mains. The Kleftiko was amazing and I would 100% recommend sampling it at Kostas. I really enjoyed it! The service was great and they were very accommodating. I would say try to get a table where it is open air as due to the very hot temperature and humidity in the evening we got a bit hot under cover. Thanks for a great meal, we will be back.

We tested this restaurant which wanted to be "#1 in Stalida".
We arrived at 21:00 on a Saturday night, the waitress who greeted us told us there was a little wait and offered us a drink on the terrace until a table became available and she would call us. 1 hour later and 2 cocktails at 10€ each bus (the most expensive paid in Stalida so far), I call the waitress to know when we can eat. She offers us a second drink (!) but I refuse and repeat my question. Another 10 minutes of waiting and we could finally sit down at the table. A music group was present and set the mood, on this side the atmosphere was nice. Level food, a wide choice. We opted for Greek specialties: Stafido and Moussaka. It was not bad but really far from the best tasted since our arrival. After lunch, the band finishes playing and surprises, all the waiters are busy tidying up, chatting, laughing, and drinking, but no one comes to see us. We wait 40 minutes before taking the initiative to ask to be able to settle. In the end, a mixed experience: decent food without being excellent, decent food prices, very high drinks prices, a lot of waiting at the beginning and end of the meal. We found that the restaurant did not live up to its reputation and have found much better since to go out to the restaurant in Stalida.

I just came back here for the third time this vacation and dont regret it at all. The staff is very funny and friendly so you instantly feel welcomed and are ready to enjoy your stay. The meals were always top notch and you always got a nice desert on the house. After the meal the waiter will even drink some „Raki“ or other selfmade liqour with you if you feel like it. (Greetings Stelios! :) Can only recommend if you want to enjoy your evening with nice accompany, fair prices and delicious food.

I can’t say enough about how good this gaff is. Stelios, Spiros and Alkida will make your day. Not only is the food on another level compared to anywhere else but they treat you like family, Spiros went out of his way to recommend the right wines to pair with each dish. We first had the bolognaise and the carbonara then went back to try some more traditional Creten dishes. We travel to many places and try food all over the world and this certainly lives up to its reputation, I really do recommend anyone anywhere near Stalis to come down give it a try and make your own decision. Not only was the meals excellent but they also took extra steps to ensure we enjoyed our visit and finished with complimentary drinks and dessert. We couldn’t fault anything and hope more people go to visit to enjoy great food and next level Cretan hospitality.

We’ve eaten in this restaurant the last 2 times we’ve holidayed in Stalis. Ran by the brother of the last who runs Maria’s Golden Beach at the other end of resort, where he restaurant has had an upgrade since we last came so looks fantastic. The food is just as good. A good variety of traditional Greek food, we ordered the chicken slouvaki and Mix grill. Didn’t have to wait long for the food and it was delicious. Staff very friendly and engaged in a chat which was nice. Couldn’t get in the night before (which was a Saturday) as they have a Greek night with music and dancers so delayed the visit by a day, but if you want that traditional experience, visit on a Saturday but get there early to guarantee a table!

Kosta and all of his colleges are doing the best job to give you a lovely evening.
The food is very good en afterwards we got some free fruits, watermelon and some desert to share with our friends.
The waiters and waitresses at Kostas are so pleseant and friendly, making jokes and making sure we have a nice evening! I can recommand having a lovely evening with dinner of just for drinks. Had the best pinacolada ever there! Also we had a special greek evening with live music and greek dancers, wich was also great to experience!Thank you Kosta and everybody for everything!

Modern and attractively decorated restaurant. The staff is very friendly and really tries to make you happy. We have eaten here a few times and tried several dishes. All dishes were very tasty. The meat and salmon were deliciously grilled and seasoned and the salads were well filled. The Caeser salad (also recommended as a main course) is especially recommended with a refined explosion of flavor in every bite.
We think this is one of the better restaurants in the Stalis/Malia area with good quality, friendly service and a modest price.

Great spot in Stalis, Crete, Greece. Cost place for dinner. Enough meals to pick from. Lie in orice, Good service. În the Ene they offeted Raki and watermellon + jelly free of charge.

Love this restaurant, been many times and it didn't disappoint. Attentive staff, lovely atmosphere and wonderful food at excellent prices. Had vegetarian lasagna, so tasty and a virgin mojito with some watermelon brought with the bill
I have been here a few times before as a solo traveller I like that I can sit where I want even when it's busy and they always remember me. Love how that makes me feel.

You walk in and are greeted with a very warm welcome.
Your either show to a table or shown to seat at bar while they prepare your table.
When not too busy or early evening you many have a choice of tables, you can also book a table of your choice.
At your table choosing drink while reading the menu, anything you not sure about on menu is explained by very curtious staff.
Good choice of food for all tastes.
My wife ordered the stifado, the beef was beautifully cooked and presented.
I opted for the house pizza with I struggle to eat which is not like me, but this pizza was filling and beautifully cooked.
We were offered dessert menu which we declined as we had, had our fill in main course.
We visited 3 time during our 10 day stay in the resort.
Going back next year for more great food

We visited this tavern because of the positive reviews and were not disappointed!
Very tasty starters, really large portions and delicious Greek food.
Plus a really nice atmosphere, friendly waiters and very good value for money.
At the end there was fruit, vanilla cream and ice cream for the children as well as a schnapps on the house.
Highly recommended!

This is a must for anyone visiting Stalis. I cannot recommend the place highly enough! The cocktails, food and service is amazing. We both had a lovely selection of breads with dips to start, followed by the most tender mouthwatering steaks we’ve ever eaten and finished off with a complimentary dessert/fruit and a shot. We ended up visiting the restaurant 3 times in total during our 9 nights stay in Stalis it was so good. Greek night is one not to be missed (Saturday). You can expect a warm friendly welcome from all the staff 😍. Can’t wait to return!

Waiter at the entrance was very friendly and kindly escorted us to our seat. The staff was quite cheerful overall and had a great connection amongst each other and the guests.
Food was served quickly and was very tasteful. Kostas'atmosphere felt luxurious.
