Lovely setting under the trees with friendly service and delicious food. Some inside seating if preferred but plenty of seating in the garden. Very moderately priced and good selection of local dishes all freshly cooked to order. Off the beaten track but just opposite the Libyan Princess hotel and just round the corner from our accommodation at Savas Rooms. We... More

This restaurant is superb. The food is authentic, homemade, outrageously fresh Cretan fare. It is by far the best establishment in a very commercial and busy town. The atmosphere in the outdoor garden dining area is spectacular, and I ate here almost every night for a week and a half. If you go to Paleochora, this is a MUST. I... More

During our stay in Paleochora we visited several restaurants but Aposperida was our favourite. Actually we had discovered this tavern in Dumond Guide Book where Aposperida is recommended. We liked sitting in the restaurant garden and enjoyed the atmosphere of the taverna. The quality of the food is very good. We tasted several foods including tsatsiki, staka and snails. But... More

This was located bang opposite the hotel we stayed at. Off the beaten track from the other bars & restaurants so quieter. We didn't actually eat here but had a drink in the beautiful garden with Olive trees & shrubs all lit at night. Enchanting & other people in the hotel said the food was very good!

Good cretan tavern. Quite garden, warm ambient, not fast service but pretty nice. Usual traditional dishes, salads, meats, few fish. Coq au vin above the average. Excellent tzatziki: over the top. Price below the line. Go!

Back again to Paleochora and, of course, Aposperida! We decided to try out the competition (which shall remain nameless) for the first time in years. We have hitherto remained totally loyal to Aposperida, believing that it is unbeatable, but this time felt it was time to sample food elsewhere. The restaurants visited did not prove terrible, by any means, it's... More

Outdoor seating under trees, very intimate. Excellent lamb chops and Salad of the season. This restaurant has just one red wine, and it was a perfect fit to the food and the surroundings.

A lovely taverna with a garden set under the shade of olive trees. Set away from the main area just opposite the Libyan Princess hotel, it is a lovely spot to enjoy a good taverna meal. Food is delicious home cooked Greek food,& the ambience is traditional friendly.

Paleochora is a very remote fishing village on the south part of Crete. During summer there are allot of choices for food. I was there on January, and the choices are very limited. The only place that offers real local cuisine during the winter is this restaurant. The food is good with local flavor, local (not very refined) wine, and... More

This is a 'real' Cretan taverna with an excellent range of genuine Cretan cuisine. The location is lovely, in a beautiful and atmospheric garden where you really feel as though you're having the real Greek experience. Prices are low, many local people eat here. I found the service both friendly and attentive. You'll find it on the outskirts of the... More
