Friendly place, but very average

Kottu and grilled fish were our main dishes. The Kottu was very bland and dry, the fish was decent, maybe a little overcooked, but pretty good. The staff are pleasant, however there was one, think may be the owner who constantly asking everyone to leave...a review. Maybe this is why the restaurant has a high rating, people badgered into it. Not on our list for a return.More

Really awesome place!

We did cooking class here and it was really great fun experience! Owner of that restaurant very friendly and nice woman, we enjoy that time with her a lot. Food, which we cooked was fantastic, very tasty, 10 from 10! Advice for everybody!

Best seafood restaurant. Fresh,

Best seafood restaurant. Fresh, tasty and delicious at a reasonable price. We tried the tiger prawns and mullet and both were really good. And it’s open now !

Best food in Sri Lanka

We found this restaurant, we were really glad that it is still open in Mai 2022 :) we had the best coconut rice, yellow rice and best lentil curry we had so far in Sri Lanka 😍 the Family is so warm-hearted and kind we...felt really nice there 😊 thank you for the best food and for having us :)More

Wonderful cooking class *****

Had a wonderful cooking class at Sea Waves! For someone who’s signature dish is toast I now feel that I will be able to create beautiful homemade Sri Lankan meals at home. From going in the tuk tuk to the local markets to pick produce,...visiting a spice shop, making fresh coconut milk & cooking the curries in the jungle kitchen this was a great experience! There is also a restaurant which is fully open. So so yummy & could not recommend more!More

Delicious!

This is the best restaurant in Unawatuna by far. The fish is super fresh and they serve it with a home-made sauce - delicious ! I recommend taking the grilled prawns with fried rice. As dessert take the banana fritters - you won’t regret it!

Absolutely awesome Rice and Curry!!!

The Rice and Curry especially the Mango and Jackfruit Curry was really really good! One of the best Rice and Currys I ate in Sri Lanka! Also the family is very kind:) The place is not central in Unawatuna but worth the visit! Highly recommended.

Amazing food, good drinks and lovely people

Amazing food and lovely people! Come here to enjoy Sri Lankan hospitality and authentic food! We had grilled and fried calamari, rice and curry and grilled fish as well! Without a doubt the best food we had on our Sri Lanka trip!

Incredible cooking class!

I joined a cooking class in April when on holiday in Sri Lanka. We were a small group but the class was taught in a beautiful outdoor kitchen nestled in the jungle with monkeys jumping on the roof. The food was incredible and the best...DhalI have ever tasted. We were sent away with recipes and also visited a market to buy the ingredients fresh. Would highly recommend. Such a lovely family too and good value for money. Thank you so much! I even made the Dhal last night in the UK :)More

Hi.I know that you are a good freinnd of wasanthas and sams.(wasanthas sri lankan cooking).but keep it in your mind.we do not told any one to write negatives things to them.because we are the one who starts the bussines first and we do not do cheep things like they do.the other thing is,what do you know about the matter that we tow have each other.you are a guest to our country and please do not involve to the our maters.please mind your own bussiness.could you prove that we force to the guest to write them negative reviews?anyway i am really thankfull to you and sam's whole familly for encouraging us.😊.(can coppy us.but,cano't be equal,never and ever😉😊)

Myself and my family visited Sea Waves, the first was for a cookery class which was excellent, the second were as diners in the restaurant also very good.
