Penultimate dinner before leaving for home at this old favourite restaurant of ours. As usual we were shown to our reserved table on arrival and duly served with our ordered aperitif pre-dinner drinks whilst perusing the menu. A few changes from our last visit but...just as enticing. Starters of cerviche and fish soup selected and duly served. Mains of tuna and seared scallops to follow. Douro red wine Quinta Alta to accompany the meal. Delightful to say the least. Single dessert of set yogurt pie with ice cream and coffee to follow. Service was the usual attention we have come to expect. Perfect portion sizes at reasonable prices for the quality on offer. Still recommended and a firm favourite of ours.More

1) Slow service, 2) main course lamb absolutely terrible. Had enough, paid, complained & left. Head waiter/ boss surprised but failed to apologise, saying I was the only one with a complaint!!

Visited it in a family group on a sun holiday. Good food. Great wine. Very friendly staff. Would recommend it to visitors.

We had a wonderful dining experience due in large part to our server, Andre. The reservation was booked through our hotel concierge and the restaurant went out of their way to welcome us and make our dining experience a memorable one. Omg we’ve been coming to Alvor for 20 years and have only just found this gem. We came off a recommendation and we’ve ended up coming twice in a week! The food is absolutely spot on with a wide range of dishes with some being...as good as some Michelin starred restaurants we’ve been to. The octopus is sublime and the the Lemon meringue is to die for. The price of the food is very reasonable and at home would expect to pay much more. The staff are so friendly and helpful and make you want to come back again. It will definitely be top of our list when we come back to Alvor.More

Simply stunning. Presentation is excellent. Quality of food is exceptional. Closest to Michelin star we have ever seen in Alvor. Don’t worry, not priced like that. Enjoy!!!

Our first visit here following a strong recommendation. Certainly not disappointed as the food and service were excellent. Attentive staff and good location. Choice of local wine is impressive. We shall certainly return and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

As a family of 6 with 4 growing boys we were disappointed. First off I had booked a nice table a week in advance only to be shoved inside when we arrived. When I questioned the seating I was told more regular guests had the...nice table outside. My fish was beautiful but the portions are very small and staff not very attentive. We had 5 adult meals and one children’s, the child’s meal didn’t arrive and so we had to remind them and then wait for this. When the child’s meal finally arrived there was no apology. Overall a disappointing night we left without having desert and won’t return there are so many nicer dnd friendlier restaurants in Alvor.More

Wondering if this was 4.5 out of 5. But for Tripadvisor let’s go 5 as the food was really good and lots of nice choice and great smells in the restaurant. Ceviche for starter was delicious and cataplana for 2 was on balance worth the...five but more variety of fish and shellfish would be better I think but the sauce with extra bread was delicious. So why wonder about the score…we’ll don’t take my wine bottle away from the table then leave me empty and don’t have me overly waiting for my 2nd plate of the cataplana…I’d rather dig in even if that isn’t 5star. But this is tasty food and good looking menu choices.More

We visited Alvor Wine a couple of times in our recent holiday to Alvor. The food is superb, the pork cheek cataplana is to die for, fantastic wine selection with knowledgeable staff to guide you. Will definitely make it my go to when I'm in...Alvor in the future, my only regret about my visit is that I neglected to leave a tip on leaving which given the excellent service was a major mistake on my behalf. Next time guys!!More
